sad milestone

I knew this day was coming but I wasn't ready for it to be so sudden. LO nursed this morning but flat out refused before bed tonite. I cried a little rocking/singing her to bed. No clue if she will be lile this tomorrow or not but she was pretty sudden with stopping bottles too.

I know its better this way if she stops than me ending it but still hurts. I know you ladies here will understand.

Last night my LO nursed for about 5 minutes after dinner and then even less than that when I offered before bed.  She squirmed and cried until I eventually gave up and put her down.  That's pretty unusual for her.  But today she was back to normal happily nursing as usual in the morning and after dinner/at bedtime.  So maybe your LO is starting to wean or maybe it was just tonight.  I do know how you are feeling though, I was feeling the same way last night.

Emmett had also had a few nights like this, but was back to nursing just fine the next day. If you're not ready to be done, don't give up hope yet! Most likely she was just really tired and wanted to go to bed!

I have a feeling A will stop well before my sons did. I don't look forward to that. You are right though, it can be easier if stopping is their decision. (At least easier on them.)

I will let you know how things go tomorrow. If she doesnt want it tomorrow I won't fight it. DH and I are going on a vacay and LO will stay with my parents at the end of August.

While not how I wanted to end I'm glad shes doing it. Such a messy bunch of emotions!

I'm not looking forward to that day either.....I know she is my last and it will be letting go of that last thread of infancy/pregnancy.  I agree that it's easier for them to make the decision.

Tonite she refused to nurse so I will just keep playing it by ear. Still nursing first thing in the AM snd MOTN.
