Breast Pump Recommendations

My heath insurance (United Healthcare) will cover the cost of my breast pump at 100% IF (and only IF) I order it through one of the three companies below. They each offer three different breast pumps. I have listed them below and added model numbers when available. Have any of you used these pumps or dealt with these companies in the past?

  1. Byrum Healthcare: Ameda Purely Yours Pump - no tote bag (AD17070P); Freemie Freedom Standard Set (DAFG017); or Hygeia Q Breast Pump (HG100056)
  2. Edgepark: Ameda Purely Yours Pump - no tote bag (AD17070P); The First Years Breastflow miPump; or Medela Personal Double Electric Breat Pump (Model 57038)
  3. Lucina Care: Lansinoh Affinity Pro Double Electric Breast Pump; NUK Expressive Double Electric Breast Pump; or Rumble Tough Double Electric Breast Pump

I too have United Healthcare and ordered the Medela from Edgepark.  I ordered and got the pump in less than 3 days.  Unfortunately, my experience with this pump was poor.  It was very painful on my breasts, even with going up a size to the 27mm shield; and I was unable to pump any milk with it.  Perhaps the Medela PISA would have much different results since that one has the let down mode and the one free one does not.

I wound up paying out of pocket for an Avent Double Comfort pump which has been a great pump so far.
    Me, 41; DH 38; TTC since July 2012, 1st round of Clomid, BFP on 10/19, what an incredible blessing!  M/c on 7w3d; D&C on 11/30; 4th round of Clomid 100mg = BFP on 04/19!!! M/c #2 at 7w; D&C on 5/30, then repeat D&C on 7/1.  Saline u/s on 8/2, uterus looks great!  Will start TTC in 09/13 w/ Clomid 100mg. Surprise natural BFP on 8/25!!! Beta #1=95, #2=182, #3=404!  EDD 5/4/13...Grow baby grow!

I have the Medela from Edgepark and mine has the let down button.  This is my third Medela pump and I've had no issues with any of them.  (currently EPing)

I had the same options from uhc as well. I already owned a medela Pisa from ds1 and wanted another medela but didn't like that they didn't offer the one with the letdown button. So instead I got the hygeia and it works with all my medela parts. It has been fine so far.

Medela. And it's so easy to buy parts which is another plus. I will mention that I went through Byrum and it was a NIGHTMARE. I'll spare you the long story but it took me over a month to get my pump. I can't recommend them based on my personal experience.
