DS has been using his potty chair, but I think he is losing interest with it & he refuses to poop in it. He has pooped at day care several times. I also want to get him on a daily schedule to get this process kicked into higher gear, that won't require me to clean the cup on the potty chair EVERY time he goes. So I'm looking at getting something that just goes on our toilet now.
We have elongated toilets in our house. My BIL gave us a character themed, cushioned potty seat his daughter used, but it doesn't seem to fit our seats. It slides around & is not secure at all. Looking online, seats that look like the same thing SAY they should fit most standard & elongated toilets, but I am weary to buy & have it not work. (Can these types of items even be returned? Guess that is something to check on too )
I've been looking at this one, but am hesitant with the price if something simpler will work!

This is the cushioned-type I was referring to above: (a lot of reviews on these say they slide around.. I'm assuming those are elongated toilet families)

@sportsmomma - I was reading some reviews & wanted to know if you experienced any of these things with yours?
Do you ever have issues with the toddler part of that seat popping off when your DS sits on it?
Any issues with urine getting between the toddler & the adult seats or issues due to a lack of a "splash guard"?
Any issues with the paint wearing or bubbling up on the wood parts?
If I purchased this one, & found we did have issues with "splashing" do you think a cheap character cushioned one would fit on the toddler part? (Just trying to think ahead. )
Other reviews mentioned the magnet coming off because the child slams it shut, but if I get the slow close as in the link you shared, I could probably avoid that issue.
Wow... so much research for a thing to sit on to poop & pee! LOL I love shopping online, but I get so paranoid when I cannot see & touch something myself!

Leap08 Just had a quick question, we potty trained DS1 this past couple weeks, he is dry, but he only uses his potty. He was happy sitting on the toilet before potty training, but hasn't used it since learning, I think because it is too many steps to put the potty seat on the toilet.
So my question is, how did your DD2 to sit on the toilet without the fear of falling in, as this would make trips out much easier, currently we take the carry potty, which DS1 is too big for really.

@Leap08 - Reading the reviews on these seats, I think they must have changed them quite a bit over the last couple years, but older models are likly still out there for purchase. Many reviews said they were wood & the paint would bubble, and that they lost the magnet. We did end up picking up this very seat at a local store that had it. It is not wood at all and it had a slow, no slam top lid. I think that was possibly the cause of so many list magnets where the child could slam the lid down.
We also always put the seat in the 'ready' position for DS. We didn't once & he just got to the toilet & just went on the rug in front of it instead, LOL. So we haven't had any issues with him having to do the setting down of the toddler part. It, so far, also doesn't move even a tiny bit when he sits on it.
We've been really happy with it.
