Illinois Babies

OB options?

Hi there,

I'm new at this! Any recommendations for OB's in the city?  Progressive Care for Women is no longer doing baby stuff as of June 1st, well no longer doing "deliveries". They told me they'd see me for my first trimester, then refer me out.

So, any offerings for good, solid OBs?

thanks!

I saw Lisa Mazzullo. All the doctors in the practice are great. My only complaint is that they are notoriously late for all appointments...like 30 min to over an hour. I got smart at the end and called ahead to see if they were running behind and then I would come in later instead of sitting in the office waiting. The instituted new policies so the last couple times I went I waited no longer than 15 minutes.

My OB was Dr Alvaro Mercado. His Chicago office is on Harlem Ave. I ended up being induced early because of severe per eclampsia but he was incredibly thorough in monitoring the entire pregnancy. We couldn't have asked for a better doctor. The only down side is the potential wait time for appointments. I want to say he delivers at 7 hospitals and is on call at 4 but he is definitely kept updated at all times.

I'm not sure how far it is for you but I highly recommend Dr. Mercado and Ressurection Medical Center on talcott and Harlem. My daughter was in the special care unit for a little over a week and everyone on staff there was amazing.

    All the best to you!
