My coffee makes me smile this morning... Yeah it's that kind of morning.
But my daughter actually listened to me today. I asked her to wait at the fence while I got C out of the car and the bags for daycare this morning. And she actually walked right over and stood by the fence. This is really my worst fear. It's hard to move fast with an infant and I'm hoping she starts to understand quickly that she should not run away from me in a parking lot.
I haven't been around lately. Sorry. :-( My morning coffee definitely makes me smile! My growing CD stash makes me smile until we start a new cycle or go another month without an adoption placement. At the moment, I'm being positive and it's making me happy so I'm going to share :-)
IMMS DS got a spot at our first-choice nursery! He'll go there 2 days a week starting in September. I just love their outdoor space. They have a little garden so the kids can grow flowers and veggies, take care of a bug hotel, and spend time in a little "forest school" area where they can learn about the seasons and ecology and life cycles. I'm so excited that he'll get to have fun with all of that since we live in a very urban area.
IMMS that it is a short work week due to the holiday and that my parents are coming to visit. I really need some family time and they don't get to see LO very often and love that he gets to spend quality time with them this week.
ETA: forgot words...apparently need more coffee.
Not bumping on The Bump anymore
Great Support, Great Conversations, and more than just Cloth Diapering at our new home
Had a growth scan last week. LO is right on track weighing in at 3 lbs 3 oz. She was asleep during the 3d/4d scan and i saw her yawn! She loves to be balled up, had her arms in her face and a foot right next to her mouth but had her other leg stretched way out. Also she's head down!
My parents brought over her dresser and i got all motivated and did up her nursery last night. It's almost all done i just need to paint some pictures and get a frame for a goofy sketch i bought at Disney last year. The theme is the fab 5 (mickey, minnie, pluto, goofy, Donald and daisy) I'm pretty happy with how it looks it's also awesome to walk into her room and not see piles of clean sorted clothes and cloth diapers on the floor.
My mom is pretty awesome and has been buying large packs of disposable diapers. If only she'd buy us cloth but I'm still thankful for what we get no matter what.
IMMS that the cleaning people are coming today. Having them come every other week since A was born has been so wonderful. It just takes such a load off our shoulders to not have to worry about mopping, dusting, vacuuming the stairs, etc.
And Raegan is at grandma's today, so she can't destroy the clean space until at least tonight :-)

Have you seen parking pals? It's a magnet with a handprint on it. Maybe that would help?
This would work with drop off, but I'm not sure it would work with pick up. My problem is she likes to run out to the car. Which is not fun when I'm holding an infant seat and two bags. Even when we ditch the infant seat, C is going to be a handful in my arms.
I'm hoping it gets better when C can walk and I can make the two of them hold hands.
DH's step bro is getting married in a couple weeks. We aren't in the wedding, but we are sitting at the "head table" with SMIL and FIL. So we all needed new clothes that fit somewhat into the purple and yellow theme. So we bought the boys purple dress shirts yesterday. So stinking cute.
And Dh bought a new suit since his old one is too small and we figured he needs to have one anyway. Let me just say I like the suit very much. Maybe CLLDLL version 3.0 will come to be that night.
My autistic 4 year old crawled into bed with me and sleepily told me how much he loves his sister and how cute she is and how lucky he feels. That will make me smile for the week.

Wear the infant, carry the toddler.
I think this is where I'm going. I think I'm going to push to get the convertible car seat installed tonight.

I'm a bit nervous about this, too! DS1 has started to really want to be independent and walk on his own, but he is good about doing "jobs" if I ask him for help. I am thinking about finding something I can tether to my belt loop (when I can wear real pants again) or diaper bag so that he has something besides my hand to hold. It's not a foolproof plan since I'll have to be extra alert to notice if he let's go (unlike when he holds my hand and I immediately know when he lets go), but I'm thinking I might try it out just for walking through a store or quiet parking lot one day.
IMMS that DH and I got to have our first date night since January last night. We were only away from DS for about 2 hours, but it was nice to have a break and know he was having fun. He absolutely loves my friend who watches him. The other fantastic thing about it was that this is the same friend who was dxed with breast cancer last January, and for the first time in 6 months, she is off almost all restrictions and is able to be around, love on, and pick up DS again! She came through surgery and chemo so beautifully, and she has such a good outlook on the whole thing. She truly is one of the sweetest, most amazing people I know, and I am beyond thankful that such a potentially devastating experience has turned out so well for her.
