It's been slow lately...

Only one explanation for that:

What do you guys do with baby in the summer?  I swear, I'm outside for like 10 minutes and then I'm like "hey, DD, you want to go inside forever?"  I know there are places to go and things to see and what not, but, ugh, I'm not a summer person. But I don't want DD missing out on things because I hate summer.

As I'm sure you've seen, I took DD to the beach Saturday.  We went to Oval Beach on Lake Michigan.  Even though she was tired from all the window shopping/puking up her lunch/pointing and screeching at every single dog we passed walking around Saugatuck she still had fun.  Sunday I stopped at the park on the way home from a store run and she got all excited about the ducks and a turtle she saw.  I try to do at least one really fun thing with her every weekend.

Last night I got the stroller out of my Jeep to hose all the sand off and she had a meltdown.  She thought we were going somewhere.  She WANTED to go somewhere!  I kept telling her to step away from the stroller or she'd get wet but she just wanted to shriek and cry so she got splashed a little.  That just pissed her off even more.  She never acts like that so I must have worn her out over the weekend.

  • It's been hot as hell here lately, and humid too, so I try to stay indoors or in the pool as much as possible.

When DD was little, the mall playground was a favorite of mine during the summer months :)

  • Baby pool, big pool, sand box in the yard, walk around in their wagon, the beach and boardwalk, park, splash park, arcade, sesame place, someone else's house/yard - they just need change of scenery
  • I don't usally go outside with her, it's hard with her being so young. She's learning how to walk right now though, and I think it will be easier once she can really walk and is older...

Same here, DD is just starting to walk (she can take as many as 14 steps in a row!) so I want to figure out places that are less likely to be overthrown by a million kids.
