I just found a chicco key fit 30 travel system with an extra base for 125 on Craigslist. Whooooo hoo, I will take it. FX this works out.
Second-hand car seats and bases are a big no-no. You have no idea of the history: If it's been in a wreck (even a small fender-bender, you should replace the seat), checked on a plane (pretty much the same as being in a wreck), cleaned/maintained properly (if straps were submerged in water or had soap used on them, they could be unsafe), etc. Also, car seats expire because the plastic breaks down.
No one else has mentioned this brand, but we really love (and get lots of compliments!) on our Mamas & Papas Sola stroller. It caught my eye, then there was a holiday sale at Babies R Us, so we got it for a great deal. We purchased the adapters to be able to use our Maxi Cosi Mico car seat (also LOVE), so we could still easily click & go in the early months.
Does anyone here recommend a travel system stroller? I feel like if enjoy the carrier when LO is small, but most of the strollers in the sets are pretty big unless I wanna drop like 800 bucks (at least that's pretty much canadian prices)
@Curlyfries851 $329 at BRU, Graco Soho Travel System, advertised as ultra light weight. I have arm and wrist issues and need something easy to collapse, lightweight, and easy to push. Stroller 17.5 lbs, ligher than some other models with less features. Carseat is 7.5 lbs is the lightest I've seen.
We are going with the Peg Perego Primo Viaggo 4/35 car seat with the Peg Perego Book Pop Up travel system stroller. The ratings and safety are all very high.
ETA: It also comes with a bassinet to convert the stroller into a pram.
I had a Mac Quest with my first child and used it for a while with my second, but my husband ended up rolling over the wheels when backing out of the the garage one day, so we replaced it with the City Mini since it was so much cheaper. *Hated* it. I am not using it again if I can help it, and I'm going to spring for a new Mac Quest since I don't have much other stuff to buy for this baby.
We ended up going with the City Versa GT - it seemed to have the best of both the City Select and the City Mini GT - and the basket is amazing!! (I heard that the GT model is not available in the US - but apparently you can just switch out the tires for the GT tires which are available).
City Mini GT is on sale on Amazon - I got last season's color for $220. I wanted it because it had the lifetime warranty on the tires and they are shorter than other jogging-type strollers so they are easier to maneuver. It depends on what you need, so hard to give advice, but I'd definitely check Amazon before buying in the store.

The Britax B-Agile stroller works as a "travel system" with the Britax B-Safe infant seat.
We looked at the Britax B-Agile today at BRU and it came with one base and the infant car seat for about $345 or so. Seems like a great stroller and is very comparable to the City Mini GT but with the GT you have to buy the adaptor, the base and car seat separate and the GT is about $350 just for the stroller.
We got the Graco Fast Action Fold Jogger. I know it is a bit heavier, but where we live the side walks are really uneven. We like that the front wheel locks and unlocks for walking or jogging.
My neighbor had the light weight Graco travel systems and the traditional plastic tires got stuck in divots and places where the sidewalk didn't connect evenly. She didn't enjoy walking when she kept getting jolted to a halt by the stroller getting stuck. She actually started using her jogging stroller, just for the air tires.
Also, there are gravel paths we can walk too that the more rugged tires will be better for. We also liked the price!
I went into Babies R Us today totally set on the city GT but ultimately went with the Graco Fast Action click connect jogger also!! I loved that the price includes a carrier. Also, the underneath basket is huge!! The city mini GT was small and difficult to put things in. Also it folds so easily! So excited about this one!
So I am totally dumb about strollers. I want it to go off roading easily. Gravel, grass, etc. Does that mean I want one of the jogger ones because they come with the air tires? I imagine the air tire ones are heavier than the plastic tire ones.

If you are not a runner/jogger and don't want that type, there are models that use rubber coated tires with strong aluminum wheels and front/rear suspension - they go off-road just fine. With DS, we ended up with the Uppa Baby Vista - it rides like a dream off-road (we live across from a state park so we liked to take him for hikes on the trails), kind of like a mountain bike. The only thing is that it is heavier. We ended-up getting an inexpensive umbrella for quick trips in and out of places. We had the Chico Keyfit 30 infant seat and got an attachment to use the car seat with it. It was awesome for shopping, the basket is huge. It's also nice for tall people - DH is 6'5.
BIL and SIL threw a wrench in my plans and kindly gave us their Maxi Cosi Mico car seat with two bases. Luckily there's a ton of strollers that accept adapters to make the car seat/stroller into a travel system. Today I checked out the Mamas and Papas strollers and really liked them, but I think I settled on the City Versa GT.
Strollers in general have gotten bulkier since the last one I got 18 years ago-a Graco travel system. That thing lasted kid numbers 2-5, so over 10 years. I've noticed how big and bulky many strollers are now.
So I did some online comparisons and I have my eye on the Chicco LiteWay Plus. (I had to rule out Graco because their seats don't fit in my jeep). It looks like it will fold up small and doesn't seem too tall. But I need to go try oone out before I drop all the dough on it-it's not cheap lol.
We have the britax b ready and I love it, ds will only be 1 when LO is born so we Deff need a stroller. I did get the universal car seat adaptor because I think the chicco infant seat better, the britax infant seat was to heavy and bulky for me
city mini select. we bought the 2nd seat as well so when we have our next child we'll already have the double stroller! we were pregnant with twins, but lost one so we had chosen this already. we are planning/hoping to have our next baby within 2 years of our November baby boy:)
Re: What strollers are you all looking at?

The stroller is okay, but not the car seat.

This is what we have. I love it. DS is now two, and he still loves the stroller. It reclines all the way, so he could sleep in it.
