How to make an IUI more...um...intimate? romantic? ..

....is that even possible? I grieved so deeply not being able to conceive with "making love" when we conceived our son, alas here we are doing IUI for baby #2. Im so blessed that it worked the first time around, but Im still so sad we wont be able to conceive in the privacy of our own home. Any suggestions on how to make this feel just a bit more intimate?

We're leading into our first IUI this week and my plan is to BD a few times this week (except for the day before as instructed) around my positive OPK like we normally would. That way if we get a BFP this cycle, I can trick myself into thinking, 'hey it could have been the IUI or it could have been us :-)'

Go home and hump after? Or hump the following day? Hump the day before?? The IUI lasts 5 seconds.. Make out in the car before you go in. 

I feel like there is a ton of shit you can do, but romance hasn't been on my radar when it comes to baby making, in years.

We make a plan for a special evening that night. It's generally on a week day so we do kind of an at home date night. It's better than nothing.

I've actually heard of Drs recommending to BD afterwards so that you never really know for sure which swimmers made it.  I guess that would be my approach.  But I agree w/ @mrsCastillo that it's just not a part of baby making anymore, sadly.

LOL I agree. Right now my body is screaming MAKE A BABY so we are gonna try to make tonight more romantic. Last time we just followed instructions and never made an effort to make it special and I went through a pretty bad grieving process about conceiving via IUI and not "making love". I want to avoid that this time.

I was going to do boudoir for my hubs last month for our anniversary but gained the 15lbs back due to my allergies and so boudoir will have to wait til early next year I think.

HawaiianSunset09 I'm not gonna sugar coat the fact that I am fat. I did a boudoir session last year and it was the FUNNEST! I did it because I was have a lot of post partum body issues and I wanted to reclaim myself. It was kind of an exercise in self acceptance. It was really empowering and made me see my body in a way I hadn't before. I think you are beautiful just the way you are now. Plus, you get to style it and buy cute new stuff. If you want to, GO FOR IT!

I never feel romantic after and I usually feel crampy.  You could have a romatic night 2 days before your IUI to make it somewhat special.

I usually ... um... assist with the collection.  It seems to get us both pretty worked up.  That way after the IUI we have some alone babymaking time.  DH likes to think it was the babymaking time and not the IUI that got us pregnant the first time, so I go along with it.

If I wasnt swollen and bloated I probably would. But its the fact that Im literally swollen all over that makes me feel SO not ready to drop that much cash on a session that I KNOW I will hate.
