Went to my adult cousins bday yesterday and I was the ONLY woman who wasnt pregnant or already a mom. There was 4 pregnant ladies there and of course the conversation revolved around delivery, and other baby stuff. Cherry on the cake my cousins IL's said "I thought you would be one of the preggo (puke) ones". I told her "we're doing Fertlity treatments and have been trying for 2 years so maybe one day". She looked kinda flustered but I don't care, after an entire day with a bunch of pregnants I didn't want to deal. And now we're on 600km/370 mile round trip for a freaking CD12 u/s. just had to rant-I know you ladies would understand.

Thanks ladies, it was a huge surprise, didn't cry until the car on the way home. Just had my monitoring appt, 1.35, 1.5, 1.55 (I think) they want them to be between 1.8-2cm so we are back tomorrow and possible trigger tomorrow with IUI Tuesday so now we have to drive all the way home so DH can work tomorrow then I will come down and back again by myself and then come down together Tuesday for the IUI. It's a LOT of driving but it's cheaper than hotels and eating out. This way I can pack a lunch and the dogs don't have to go to my parents. Sorry for the wall of text, mobile bumping

Ouch. I'm sorry. That's hurtful when in a group with 4 pregnant people. Glad that party is over for ya.

That sounds like an extremely intense day. I'm glad you stood up for yourself though. I'm also so sorry your doctor is that far away!

oh how terrible! I'm glad you were able to get through that i probably would have left waaaaaay early. And good for you for having a response. i am not usually good with that kind of thing.

@Aeml1985‌ where are you that you have to drive such a far distance for an u/s? Do you have to do that with each appt?

I'm sorry you had to deal with that! You had such a good answer though! I never know what to say in those situations. I hope your next ultrasound looks good!!

That must be difficult to have to make such long drives to your appointments.  Hopefully you will get good results soon.

The clinic here has an 18-24 month wait list, so we go to Calgary, Alberta. I'm in Edmonton. U/s looked good today, trigger tomorrow and IUI Thursday. So only one more day of missed work :-) thank you ladies so much, I love this place

Ugh, how annoying!  I think people don't mean to be hurtful or insensitive but it's just that most people just don't understand IF and will often make comments that hit a sensitive spot for us.  Happens to me quite often!  :-/  I like that you stood up for yourself and answered back though!  I have never been able to do that (mainly because I don't feel comfortable telling most people that I'm on treatment).  I really admire you for that!

Ugh, people are just clueless about IF.  I think that it just doesn't even cross their minds.  Even so, what if you simply weren't interested in having children?  That would still be a personal matter, where that type of comment is insensitive.  Good for you for responding like that!
