I will be 20 weeks tomorrow... But nobody thinks I look pregnant at all! I was a little overweight before I got pregnant, but I am worried about not looking pregnant at all. Does anyone else have this problem?
With baby #1, I barely looked pregnant at 20 weeks. You could tell if you knew me, but strangers wouldn't be able to tell. (And I started off technically "underweight" according to my BMI.)
This isn't a "problem", people show at different times. Why are you "worried" about not showing?
I'm 19 weeks today, 109 pounds and have a bump to my family and friends but strangers wouldn't guess it was pregnancy related. A lot of FTM's take quite awhile to show, I have several friends who didn't show until well into their 7th month. No need to worry if baby is developing fine and your doctor is not concerned. Just think, less bump means less time to get that pre-baby body back
It's really not that uncommon to not have a bump for average sized women. As you said, you're overweight so it WILL take longer. And that's from a STM who is also over weight.
I get jealous of others' bumps too but I realized, from reading another thread just like this one, that I might appreciate not getting so big so fast a few weeks from now.

@Maelara have your boobs grown yet? My boobs haven't grown yet. Def a bit of nip/areola darkening & dh thinks my areolas are a lil bigger. Any random knowledge you know about minimal boob growth at this point (I'm 18wks).
OP, I don't show either. I have not gained any weight, but was overweight to begin with. I know my bump is growing as some of my pants feel tight.

My boobs haven't grown much maybe a little bit but Im still in the same bras. It sucks ass. Last time my boobs didnt grow either and I ended up not having enough breast tissue to bf properly. I'm hoping that even though they haven't grown that this won't be a problem this time. I think if they haven't grown you can still be fine. It's more important when your milk comes in. I was still in the same bra when that happened too

@KMW08 and @Maelara mine haven't done much, either. ( I just had to go up a cup and a band size, from 36A to 38B, but my 36A was snug before pregnancy and I think it is the increased rib size that forced me to get new bras. And 38A is impossible to find. The 38B has a little growing room. I'm still hopeful I'll finally "grow a pair", but honestly I worry that I won't have enough breast tissue to bf.
@AeandJb my boobs had a massive growth spurt 1st trimester too...I think they're still growing, just at a slower rate right now. I'm sure I'll be thankful if bf is easy (relatively speaking) when LO arrives, but right now its just annoying!
My first pregnancy I didn't really show until 6 months....before then I looked like I had a sloppy gut rather than a baby bump...this pregnancy I already feel like I'm a walking blimp lolz
Point being don't worry every pregnancy is different -you will be showing very soon :-)
If you are tall, there is more space for the baby to spread out. If your uterus is tilted towards the back, it wont be poking out the front as much. If you have a 25" waist normally, 5" extra makes a huge difference-its 20% more! likewise if you have a 40" waist normally, 5 extra inches wont be as noticeable ( 12.5%). Don't worry If your doctor says the baby is fine, youre fine. however I would be sad if I didn't have a bump either.

I'm with you ladies. Minimal boob growth.. So sad. They look a little fuller but I'm still in the same bra comfortably, boo! Very concerned I will have issues with breastfeeding.
I had issues last time because I was so sick (3 gallbladder surgeries) that my body focused on healing me instead of developing breast tissue. Now, it is possible to have breast tissue issues with nothing going wrong but it's very rare. I'm sure you ladies will be fine there are a lot of ways to increase supply and lactation consultants who will give it everything they've got.
that would be really awkward that people are asking you that, how rude. I swear some people have no common sense! YOU WILL SHOW! Try not to freak out. Sometimes I just look fat and not pregnant and other days I look rounded out. It's weird, but the important thing is appearance aside, everything with my baby is perfectly fine and that's the important part.
Hang in there, everyone is different and in a few weeks I'm sure you'll wake up and say, "There he/she is!"

-----------------quote fail----------------- Just wanted to chime in and say my sister had a baby in September, she only had to go up in band size for rib expansion. Her boobs didn't get bigger... And she is still successfully breast feeding my niece.
I lost 180 lbs in preparation for becoming pregnant because I wanted to be a healthy role model for my kids. My husband joined me and lost 75. (we both struggled with weight our whole lives). So I still looked overweight when I got pregnant because of excess skin. I am 19 weeks and I can tell I'm pregnant but hardly anyone else can. It bothers me a little bit because I wanted to be a "cute pregnant lady" but I decided that as long as I am healthy and baby is healthy I'm fine with people just thinking I'm fat.
ETA: To OP... I'm not sure which is worse, being asked "Are you sure you are pregnant?" or being asked "Are you sure you aren't having twins?" which is what people have been asking me lately
Yeah, I'm overweight, size 16/18 pre-pregnancy, and didn't expect to show until later. I suddenly popped at 14 weeks, thanks to an anteverted (forward tilting) uterus and a posterior placenta pushing the baby more forward. So for the last 8 weeks, I've been hearing people tell me, an already fat girl, how big I am, and "are you sure it isn't twins?" or "are you sure they have your dates right?" It really sucks.
OP: Here is an article that I read a few weeks ago that made me feel better about my bump. Maybe it will help you, too. If your doc says you and baby are fine, trust them. And whatever you do, don't try to compare your bump to anyone else's. All bumps are unique. https://www.babyzone.com/pregnancy/position-of-baby/pregnancy-stomach-growth_71240
Thanks girls. It's just so awkward when people ask if I'm sure that I'm pregnant.
You should carry your positive pee stick around with you. When someone questions you, pull it out and show them. I bet they won't say anything else to you about being sure you are pregnant. Hehe
The u/s tech asked me if I was sure I was pregnant right before my anatomy scan. I told her to double check for me.
I'm tall and thin, the perfect combination for "showing early" But HG really sucked all the weight out of me. I just try to have some sort of comeback, either simply explaining that I have HG or saying that it helps me lose the baby weight.
People just like to talk, especially when you're pregnant. I try to take it in stride because the intentions are usually good.

actually, if you have a long torso you are more likely to show less. Your uterus and baby can grow more vertically until they need to start sticking out horizontally. So short and thin women tend to show more from what I have seen.
