Visiting from 0-3...My first child had a 6-6:30 bedtime but I can't recall when he started this? My daughter seems to be no where near hitting that early bedtime. She is almost 8 weeks and we start her bedtime routine (bath and swaddle) around 7 but she usually falls asleep around 9. When did your LO start responding to the bedtime routine and falling asleep earlier? I am ok following her lead for now, was just curious and couldn't remember. Thanks!
My LO usually goes to sleep for the night anywhere between 6:30-7pm. He always went to bed a little earlier than most babies, I believe (latest was 8pm when he was younger than a month). Every week, we would just start his bedtime 10-15 mins earlier and he responded well.
Around 3 months. We noticed we were waking him up at 9pm to feed him he would sleep until 6am so one weekend we didn't wake him up to see if he would need that feeding and he didn't. So now he eats at 6 then 7/7:30 he is in bed for the night.
DD2 went to sleep for the night at 8-8:30 from age 2 months until 5 months. She's now almost six months and falling asleep at 7-7:30, depending On when she shows signs of tiredness. She has a dream feed at 9/9:30 each night. I'm thinking of dropping this as she never wakes up hungry on her own. However, she's my last child and I really like the bonding that comes with this feeding.
I read to keep babies younger than 8 weeks awake from 8 pm until you go to bed around 10 pm. But between 8-12 weeks you can inch it up if you notice they are falling asleep more easily. My LO just turned 12 weeks and so far has guided me to push his bedtime up to 9. We start his bedtime routine around 8. He's a good sleeper too. Once he falls asleep he'll sleep until 6 am.

Interesting, I have never read that. Do you know why that is? DS has had a 7:30/8:00 bedtime since birth and he's a fairly decent sleeper.
