Training pants while out n about

I'm just looking into getting a few cloth training pants for DS to wear while we're out of the house for errands and smaller spurts. He's still not getting the hang of telling me when he needs to pee. I just want something to hold in the mess briefly, so I don't have a puddle to clean up in addition to the child, and I'm trying to save money where I can. Do you think a waterproof cover over his underwear would work? Or should I go ahead invest in the TPs? Also, if you have any recs I'd like to hear them. I'm looking for something thinner so he doesn't get it confused with his CDs. He doesn't hold his pee of he knows he has a diaper on.

I'm been using the grovia trainers with a flat. So far is the one the I like the most. I keep a potty sit in the car.i like the blueberries too. You can try made some like the tutorial the ITK, show us the other day. It's a good idea too. I also keep extra cloths in the car for him.
