Question for ladies taking Progesterone

Ok ladies I've got a tmi personal question for those of you taking progesterone vaginally. One of the joys of these pills is the leaky gross feeling. I always need a panty liner. But it's pool/beach season - what is a girl to do!? I want to go to the pool this weekend and I just don't know what to do about this little issue. Anyone else have this problem?

I only used it for one cycle, but I found that it was more a sensation of leaking (or explosion!) and that there wasn't all that much actually coming out.  I just went to the bathroom whenever it happened, but I didn't really feel like I needed a panty liner.  I found it to be more like a lots of CM day.   :-??

Do you use it in the morning or evening?

 

Either way, why not clean yourself up right before you go swimming.

I used crinone while camping for a week at the lake. It wasn't too bad with leaking but I felt the need to shower more often.

@LaRomana09‌ I'm sure it's less than I think, but there is definite leakage.

@PinkCamino‌ one pill in the morning and 1 at night. So the first hour or 2 are the worst but after that theres always a little.

I guess my main concern is just feeling gross in my bathing suit :-w

I use progesterone supps morning and night during the 2WW. As you said, the first two hours are the messiest. That means I wake up to a messy situation in the morning after doing the nighttime dose.

But dealing with the aftermath of the dose I take in the morning/daytime isn't that bad. I try to just remember to do the progesterone at the same time I temp, which is usually at least an hour before I really get out of bed. This means I am able to clean up the worst of the mess when I shower after getting up. I do use pantyliners in addition, but during the daytime the mess is minimal by that point. 

When changing into a bathing suit, I just do a little extra clean up with a warm washcloth or those flushable wipes. It's never been a big issue, really.

@HeyMrsPotter‌ that's a good idea taking the morning pill when you temp and go back to sleep. I might try that. Perhaps I'll pick up some wipes too. Good suggestion. Thanks!

Seriously so glad to have people that understand these things! I told one friend about how I actually take the pills and she was clearly disgusted.

Yes, thank you for asking this! I always lay back down I'm the morning bc of the leaking sensation. I'm glad I'm not crazy for feeling that way too! This isy cycle doing this and it's nice to know the sensation is "normal" to an extent.

Yeah I'd just clean up before & go for it. I've never found it to be that much discharge once I got past the first hour or 2.

Would you be able to take that days med orally? My dr had me on vaginally and I asked if I could just switch to oral. She said yes! Obviously I am no dr and not asking you to go against your drs orders--just my 2 cents

@rslh10‌ that's an interesting idea. I had asked my dr initially why it had to be vaginally and he explained how so many other areas "take" the medicine before it gets to your ute if you take it orally. But every dr is different. I think I'll prob just stick to vaginally and clean myself up like other ladies suggested. Thanks!

Does it have an applicator?  I did it the same way I would a tampon...put the applicator in as far as it felt comfortable and then pushed the plunger thingy.

@Km380‌ Thank you for this thread I hadn't even thought of this! Am I the only one that gets the most leakage after 4-5 hours?

@meladoriestar‌ from what I read last month you definitely want to get the suppository in as far as possible. Someone online spoke about using an empty tampon applicator to help, Idk if that would really work though.

@meladoriestar‌ I asked the nurse this when I first started and she said however far you can get it, do that. So as far as my finger can go is where it goes

Um question about the wipes - are you all talking about the wet tp wipes or is there some sort of feminine wipe?

@meladoriestar‌ Bloating, exhaustion, sore and bigger boobs. Sometimes I get a headache the first day. Sometimes I get a really bad headache when I stop them

I know there are feminine wipes out there but I just use the TP kind.

@meladoriestar, unfortunately, I experience them as pregnancy-type side effects. Or, like typical 2WW symptoms but stronger. Fatigue, nausea, etc.

@stinybean‌ you are not alone in the timeframe of the leakage. I usually don't have any until 4-5 hours later either. Strange.
