I'm on day 12 of BCP. I did have what they call the "Final IVF Consult" this past Wednesday. We did the mock transfer which I was thinking it's sort of funny because having a name for it like that makes it sound much bigger than it actually is! It was like a minute and just a quick measurement. The RE did say, however, that my bladder needs to be more full when we do the ET... that's something I'm going to have to work on, LOL.

I got my calendar as well. I will be starting Lupron on 7/7 and then 150 iu of Follistim on 7/16. As of now the estimated ER is 7/28. I was so relieved to find out that Lupron and Follistim will be sub-q since I've done that type before and it's easy. I will eventually have to do the PIO shots...

QOTD: I read a lot and watch a lot of movies. I have other hobbies but I haven't done them in a while, like sewing, crochet, and cross stitch. Lately I've been trying to eat healthier and exercise (have been doing the 21 day fix by beach body while I wait to start meds) so "researching" ideas for that online has taken up a lot of my time.

Hey ladies!!  Still on BCP, but seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!  I leave for Nashville (work trip but some pleasure too!) on Sunday and will be going camping/boating at my vacation property as soon as I get back from that, so I'm hoping time flies by!

I have my baseline us/bw on 7/7 and will start injects 7/10!!  Who would think I'd be so excited to start shooting myself up with hormones!? LOL

QOTD:  Is going out the eat a hobby? lol  I feel like it's all we've been doing lately!!  I use to scrapbook and will probably get back into it more during July since I won't be doing much else.  DH and I bought a boat last year and have loved spending time on that!  We purchased a camping property on the water this spring that we can camp and boat at too...so I have my summer off all set to relax!  I also started working out a lot lately too -- trying for 5-6 days a week, mostly cardio.

Still in the waiting period before starting Lupron on 7/3. In other news, our house purchase agreement fell through. So we currently have nowhere to live!! :-O We are hot on the hunt for a house, and have a promising prospect that we plan to offer on tonight. Wish us luck!!

@jencity9 it's interesting that they are already estimating your ER date. My RE won't estimate ER date until I start stimming, after my baseline check, so I won't have an idea what my ER  or ET dates will look like until then. But baseing off of the typical 10-12 days of stims, I'm thinking I will likely have ER around 7/25.

@jszy10 I think the fact that we can actively start doing something is what makes the starting of stim injections exciting. Though I did admit to a friend (who also went through IVF) that I actually think mixing my doses and prepping my SubQ inject is fun. Formulation is fun, and the 30G 0.5 in needles are so small and cute!!

    Edit: Spelling is hard!
  • @sha259 Well, that date is based on 10 days of stims and is very much a rough estimate. She wasn't going to give me a date but I wanted just a ballpark (partly because my DH is supposed to go out of state for a bachelor party at the end of July and we were wondering if it was going to conflict) and that's where we're at if all I need is 10 days. FWIW, DH and I are totalllly okay with him having to miss the party, but his brother will NOT be happy so it's more we're worried about whether we're going to have a situation with that! I actually thought my RE was the only one who didn't give estimates like that typically because I've seen a lot of other people who know the date too.

I also think mixing the meds is sort of fun. :) I won't have to do that with Lupron or Follistim though... though I think using the pen might be fun, LOL.

  • I'm on day 18 of 21 of BCPs...holy crap this is getting close!  My baseline u/s and blood work is Monday.  Also the day we need to make our down payment for our cycle package.  If all looks well, which it should, then stimming will start on 7/4, one week from today.  My estimated ER is some time the week of 7/14.

QOTW:  I love to read, but don't make time for it like I used to.  C and I love to Geocache, but that is a nice weather only kind of thing.  I like to make jewelry and get in a kick with that every once in a while.  Also in the nice weather we spend a lot of time on her motorcycle.  Another simple pleasure of mine is having house plants.  I move them outdoors for the summer and enjoy watching them grow.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

@StacyLH24 Geocaching!!! I have done it a few times and love it. :) We have done them as team building activities at work during the spring/summer.

I don't think I answered about the hobbies. If you ask me realistically, my hobby is watching Youtube
:\"> But DH and I are also pretty handy, so we do alot of DIY home repair and room design. Its really rewarding. And Youtube is helpful for that too. ;)

I might also consider eating out a hobby, haha. We do it at least once a week.

encity9 Thanks for the welcome!  But um, I am six kinds of panicky that I don't know the answer to the question.  Before we figured out that I wouldn't do BC this time he had mentioned that the practice used to use Lupron but there is something else they use now for suppression in lieu of it with the same results.

HOWEVER, after the shock of "OMG we are starting TODAY?" I didn't even think to ask, "So, uh...what exactly are we doing ?!"  I told him I felt overwhelmed about what we were doing and when and he told me not worry because I would spend a few hours on July 8 going over it in detail.

Out of curiosity, when does suppression happen!?  (Can you tell how new I am?!)

    Me: 27 DH: 27

October 2013: Endo erosion/ Clear HSG

March 2014: SA #1/  2%morph, borderline sperm count, decent motility

June 2014: SA#2/  2% morph, low sperm count, worse motility

Plan: "Quick Start IVF"/antagonist protocol with Follistim, Ganirelix, Ovidrel and progesterone suppositories (yay)

High AMH (11) and Low BMI= low doses of everything to prevent OHSS

July 27, 2014: Started Follistim injections for ten days

    July 31, 2014: U/S= 20 follicles, 8.5 lining, E2 is good, Ganirelix for 4 days starting 8/2

    August 4, 2014: 14 follicles on-track, good lining, Trigger 8/6

    August 9, 2014: 9 ICSIed/ 5 embryos; aiming for a 5dt on 8/13

    August 13, 2014: 5DT of 1 4BA almost-hatching blastocyst (Please hang in, Little Bug!)

August 14, 2014: We have 3 frosties! Hope they're having fun hanging out together. :)

    August 23, 2014: Beta #1: 144 8/23/14: Beta #2: 374 Beta 8/25/14  Beta #3: 6,600 9/3/14

    September 9, 2014: Ultrasound #1 115 heartbeats per minute

    September 23, 2014: Ultrasound #2 182 heartbeats per minute

    September 26, 2014: Love my OB's office

October 10, 2014: Our baby looks like a baby and is moving all over!

    December 8, 2014: Anatomy scan- It's a girl!

After some panicky researching (sigh lol) this is what I -think- we are supposed to be doing:

When will I start the antagonist medication?
You will begin Antagon (Ganirelix Acetate Injection) and Cetrotide when your blood level and follicles have reached an appropriate size. This is about the fifth or sixth day of stimulation medication.

  • @LO95‌ I didn't mean to panic you! I'm sorry!!!! I know there are so many things about this that are scary. I just found out my specific protocol and I feel like I've been prepping for this forever. I was just curious about the suppression but sounds like he has a plan for using something else! Plus with you doing Ovidrel now and stimming in July when you are, there is time!

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year

Hello I am new here but definitely not new to TTC.  We have been trying for 8 years and 9 months (but who's counting).   I began my first IVF cycle in April of this year on Clomid and Femara.   At DAY 8 my ovaries hadn't responded at all so we cancelled that cycle and decided to try a new one with stronger meds.

I am now on DAY 8 of my 2nd IVF Cycle.   I started this cycle with 400iu Gonal F injections daily.  My Doctor did a scan on DAY 6 and my body hadn't responded in the slightest bit.  He increased my injections to 450iu Gonal F daily, added estrace (small dose) and a 0.1ml hcg injection.  Now on DAY 8 I am hoping and praying that this is working!!   I do feel a lot of twinges in my ovaries and hips so I am hoping this is a good sign.

To pass the time, I LOVE to garden, decorate and organize.

    ME: 37, DH: 40
TTC since September, 2005 (8 yrs and 9 mos - but who's counting)

    Dx: PCOS, Endometriosis, Adenomyosis
Tried to conceive naturally on just clomid off and on for several years.
IVF #1:  4-24-2014:  Started an IVF Cycle on Clomid, my body didn't respond so it was cancelled.
    IVF #2:  7-11-2014:  BFFN :(

Thank you @jencity9 I just got back from my appt. and they are GROWING!!!!!  ahhh.... I've been so stressed about this due to our cancelled cycle in April but he said we are on track and looking good.  I am to continue what I am doing although start the Antagon injections today to keep me from ovulating and then go back in on Friday for another ultrasound.   It's looking like the extraction will likely be this weekend or Monday with the transfer next week.

My largest Follicle was 13 and there were about 9 others measuring at 11, 9, 8, 7 and 6.

Well, I'm new and have no idea what I'm doing so yeah most likely by mistake :)   This place is taking me a bit to figure out.

  • Hi everyone,  I'm new here :)  I've been lurking and learning a lot from everyone but I'm ready to join in.  Everything is in my signature but the short version is I have PCOS, DH is totally fine.  We did 2 cycles with clomid + IUI and started a third cycle with clomid but had to stop when it messed with my vison, converted to follistim + IUI.  I got a BFP but started bleeding the same day, beta went up and down and it was eventually ruled an ectopic which thankfully resolved itself.  We are very lucky to have great insurance coverage so we are moving onto IVF.  I started provera on Saturday and once my period starts it's on.

QOTD:  I love to run and ran my first marathon in November.  I'm really nervous about stopping exercise while cycling.  On the flip side I'm also a couch potato and love just vegging infront of the DVR.

Me: 30 PCOS DH: 28 Very good numbers and quality

No protection and on Metformin since August 2012

    IUI# 1: Feb 2014 Clomid, Progestrone BFN

IUI #2: March 2014 Clomid, Progesterone BFN

    IUI #3: May 2014 Clomid, Follistim, HCG - 5/21 BFP, Beta #1 20, Beta #2 68 (?), Beta #3 52, ectopic Finally down to zero on 6/5.

IVF#1: 6/5 Consult, waited for insurance pre approval, 6/28 started provera

  • Hmmm does anyone know how to get my signature to post with my posts?
