I let DD try a freeze pop. She seemed to really like it. She only had a tiny bit though. And after a few bites she shook her head and her hands like "no, no more mom" haha
July 13 Siggy ChallengeDecember'14:Christmas/Holiday Movie
So, stalker here. You get no qualms from other bumpies on your board for starting this "too early"?
@hercules03 people comment on that sometimes, but I don't recall anybody ever getting their panties in a twist about it ::shrug::
Besides, @ljs4117 now has double the adorable reason to be up at the crack of Friday! So if we do mind her starting it so early, I suppose she could always make it up to us with some more newborn pics *hinthintnudgenudge*

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
Our approval for home health will be reviewed in July, and we will probably lose our nurse at the end of the month (or maybe Aug, not sure how much notice we get). I've been meaning to look into daycare, but I haven't yet. Partly because I've been crazy busy, but mostly because I really want to suddenly have him all to myself.

I have a real FFFC. I knowingly stole salad dressing. One of those single serve to go packages. I bought a prepared salad and some other groceries and checked out. I realized that I didn't pick up dressing and, as I was going back to work, would have no dressing there. It was $0.49!
Across the street at the gas station owned by the same company as the grocery store, the same salad would be what I paid for it, and you'd get a free thing of salad dressing. So I just took one and walked out. It's the principle damn it!
Last year when I was about 7-8 months pg I bought large Cotton undies from Walmart to wear for end of pregnancy and post partum- cheap and comfy. Well, I've lost the baby weight and now wear a small size but I still wear the large walmart underwear They hang and sag and go up to my belly button and I look really hilarious but I love these granny panties.
@missymr I do the same thing too. If I explain the whole I kinda get a "Wtf" look lol I was saying "My Internet mom friends" & that got weird responses too so now it's just "All my friends".
@ljs4117 I get irrationally sad about that too I don't live close to anyone either and have never met anyone from our bmb.
I don't think this is a FFFC but I honestly think I would be a shitty mom if it wasn't for this board. I've learned SO much from you ladies. The amount of stupid I see in most of my friends that are moms amazes me. Id probably be right there with them. When they ask me for advice & such they're usually like "how do you know so much & where do you get this info?".
My FFFC: My parents are keeping P tonight for a few hours and I'm irrationally worried about it. It's stupid. They obviously raised me and they've watched him before.
My fffc is I am an extremely selfish person. I have not had a break from parenting by myself in three weeks, since before my pap got sick and passed. All I would like is for my mom to come and visit us. I know my grandma needs help here and there but they are constantly at her house and up her butt. She asked them for a little break but they keep going two at a time. I dont even need her to babysit, I just like the company and would like to only worry about one kid for a short time.
There is just only so much I can take. Nico learned to climb on the couch and it is all he wants to do. I have to be on top of him so he doesn't fall off all day. He also learned to take his diaper off. Plus both boys have the worst diaper rash I have ever seen. I can't even put a diaper on Enzo because he cries. Plus he has had explosive diarrhea for 9 days. S.O.S.!!!!
@mamasighs she hasn't been coming over since about three weeks before he got sick. I kind of just want SOMEONE to help. She is the only person who helps, which is messed up. I mainly just want one of my inlaws or my husband to step it up and help and for people to respect my grandmothers wishes.
@Mamasighs I would never ask her to come over knowing how busy she is. There is just nothing like the support of a mom. Ds1 loves her more than anything else in the planet and they miss her. He talks about her all the time.
Mine is DH and I were unsafe parents yesterday. We had to backwash the pool so I brought DD out to disitt with us. She was on a blanket far away from the pool, but inside the pool fence. She was having fun just playing and feeling the patio...we just left her sitting there while we tidied up the backyard for her party. Good thing she is still a rock. DH and I commented on how we are terrible parents. When DD starts to crawl we are so screwed.

Just be careful. You don't want the first time she decides to be mobile to be when she is inside the pool fence while your back is turned tidieding up the yard. It only takes one time. Pools + little kids scare the poop out of me. =-/

I was a bad girl at work this morning. I went in last night to work an extra shift because they were short and my replacement didn't know she was working this morning. She was an hour late. I can't leave until she gets there or I could lose my license. I voiced my annoyance repeatedly. She was apologetic and I know things happen, but c'mon, man. Get your shit together. I've been up since 6:30 yesterday and the cat has to be to the vet this morning.

@BetsyD2010 The day Luke came home from the hospital it is possible that he and I had coordinating outfits. And I may or may not have bought him a pair of tiny Toms identical to mine. No shame.

I gave my kid half of a chocolate chip cookie yesterday so I could finish watching Game of Thrones in peace.

I don't really find the beach with a three and very-nearly one year old relaxing. I see sand to be cleaned up, sand that is being rubbed in eyes, sand entering diaper, sand being eaten, and a sandy car to be vacuumed. I hate sand.

-------- This, exactly. It only takes a second. It's just not worth the risk. If you know something is unsafe to do, don't leave your kid. Bottom line.
ETA: the more I think about this, the worse it sounds. I hope you don't do this again.
That is a bit condescending. It's not like she left her alone, if she did become Mobil right then and fell in she could get there in a flash. She already admitted how stupid it was
Thank you so much. Yes it was dumb. But i know for a fact she would not move. If I knew that she could get into the crawling position I would never do it. But she CAN'T. She just can't
I sitting in a parking lot crying my eyes out because she can't and she works so hard.
The tops I purchased yesterday were all chosen with the duel purpose of looking cute now and covering up the first tri bloat, just in case I get KU soon.
And confession #2, I may run out of pregnancy tests before there is any real chance of me being pregnant. Pee on all the things!
@lizabethann06 oh i have learned my lesson about the changing table. i really would not leave DD by the pool if i knew she could romotely move. (And by the pool i mean 20 feet away from the edge.)
@dinomama13 - I'm the same re: parenting skill. I am amazed at how much I've leaned on the moms here for guidance about almost every aspect of parenting. I'm the type that has their own opinion but likes to collect as much advice and info as possible. I don't have many mom friends and the ones I do have aren't bad but they're even newer parents than I am for the most part. I find a lot of comfort from the advice/stories from everyone... "Oh, what I'm going through right now *is* normal!!"
My confession: I definitely went way overboard on the first birthday part for DS. I hope DH never asks me how much money I spent. That conversation will not go well.

>:D< @joanna2004 My DH was born with cerebral palsy and has always been in a wheelchair. He has a THIRD grade reading level and a MASTERS degree (and in my unbiased opinion a beautiful family). I also was born with a physical disability and my parents were told by a specialist when I was an infant that my condition was associated with severe learning disabilities. I never had any challenges with learning and now have my doctorate in clinical psychology.
Morgan will get there in her own time and she will continue to amaze you with all that she will accomplish! She's lucky to have a mama who advocates for her! If you ever need to talk please feel free to PM me.

Sorry for the fwp fffc.
When people drown, they drown silently. It could be so easy to miss it and for Morgan to have a tragic accident. No one wants Morgan to get hurt.
Maybe next time she can go in a pack and play?
