Best wrap? Best mei tai?

Hi! New baby coming and want to improve my baby wearing kit. Thinking about getting an Ellaroo and a Blackhawk Mei Tai. As notes, I live where it is hot all year. I currently use an ergo a ton (back carry) and I also never liked the Moby. It was hot and bulky and the baby never liked it, even when little. I'm not rich, so those seem like the best value. Thoughts? Any others I should consider? Thanks!

Re: Best wrap? Best mei tai?

  • Depending on how warm it is, I think a Mei Tai might even be too much. I'm finding DS is not really enjoying being in ours now that it's summer.

Have you considered a ring sling? They can be made from all kinds of different fabrics, are super versatile, and are usually pretty budget friendly

They don't get much love but I love Ellaroos for summer newborns!  They are thin and easy to learn to wrap with.  I love the babyhawk and think it's nicer than the Infantino (which is a good budget option though).  I used the babyhawk with my babies in the Southern summer - totally fine. I agree that finding a group who has meet ups is a great way to see what you like.

  • Thanks, all!  Yes, heading over to a babywearing meetup soon, and I bet I'll get some ideas.
