XP: Update #4: ball.and.chain *Active Labor*

Saturday, 6/28 at 10 a.m. EST:
Around 7 a.m. EST ball.and.chain was in active labor and got her epidural. She checked in again around 9 a.m. to say she was 6 cm and her water broke!! She stated "epi is magic" and that she got some rock star sleep and was feeling ok! They started magnesium (standard for pre-e, which is why she was induced). Now it's just letting the meds and her body and Mr. Baby all do their things!!
Hopefully the next update will have a baby involved!!!!!!!! Almost there!!! YAY!

Friday 6/27 at 8 p.m. EST:
They started pitocin around 4 p.m. and she was 3 cm! However, things are still going slowly and while they've upped the pitocin dose three times as of 8 p.m., and she's still having 'period-like cramps.' She's welcome to get her epidural at anytime, but doesn't feel any need for it yet. Anyhow, I'll update more when there's more to update - but things are moving along!!

Friday 6/27 at 11 a.m. EST:
Things are moving slowly but B&C is totally ok with that. Last night they inserted the foley balloon to help open the cervix upon removal this morning, she said "cervix softer, but otherwise still Fort Knox..." so she's now started Misoprostal to help it along. She did take a shot of nubane as the balloon caused some serious cramping and got a decent bit of sleep overnight.
At this point, she's figuring on a Saturday birth and is ok with that vs. rushing to Pitocin before the cervix is ready. For now, she said she's enjoying having a day to lie around in bed and was about to have a bagel for breakfast

Hi all!
Ball.and.chain started her induction process around 3 p.m. today EST. As it turned out, her cervix nor Mr. Baby had any intention of going into labor anytime soon (long, firm and closed) so they started with prostiglandins to soften the cervix. As of 7:45 p.m. EST, she is having light/crampy contractions! Great news that her body is responding. While this is the gentler/slower method, it's better
to ripen the cervix before introducing the big guns (pitocin).
Her docs said it can take between 1-3 days before Mr. Baby will show his sparkling little face, and I will keep you all posted as I hear updates! For now, she's being patient and trusting her docs!
I'll update as there is more info!

4 IUIs with Clomid, Letrozole, and Menopur. All BFN.
9/12: lap / hysteroscopy: found and removed mild endometriosis, cervical polyp, and 2 para-tubular cysts
5/13 IVF #1: Follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix, 10R/4M/4F, ET of 2, 5 cell and 4 cell, no frosties = BFN
12/13 IVF #2 = November / December 2013. Microdose Lupron Protocol: 15R/6M/6F, Froze all 6 due to high E2 and P4

IVF #1: ER 1/23/13- 4 eggs retrieved, 3 eggs fertilized; ET with 1 embryo 1/28/13 2 frosties beta #1 2/5 was 4.8- beta #2 2/7 3.5; BFN
FET #1- transferred one beautiful 4AA embie. Praying this is my take home baby. Beta 5/7/13- BFFN!!!
IVF #2: ER 7/17/13: 6R/3F- transferred 1 blast and 1 10 cell embryo 5dt. Beta hell. #1 2.5, #2 2.2- BFFFN! REALLY?
IVF #3: ER 12/1 and only 2 retrieved. 1 fertilized with ICSI. Was planning on transferring one fresh and one frozen....fresh was only 14 cells at day 5...CANCELLED and devastated due to 5cm blood filled cyst in ovary and blood in uterus.
IVF #4: Antagonist protocol with endometrial scratch day one of stims. ER 4/21: 6R/4M/3F- transferred 2 beautiful blasts (5dt) and one was hatching! No frosties but hoping we won't need it! Beta 5/4/14- 444(8dp5dt), Beta #2 10dp5dt 1002! THIS HAS GOT TO BE IT!!!!!!!!!! First US 5/15 we saw two of the most beautiful gestational and yolk sacs I have ever seen!
