Trying to Get Pregnant

WDYT?

Not actively trying but not preventing either. Whatever happens.

My periods are a little irregular, and we had sex 2 days before I got my period. My periods are usually very long (10 days). This time my period only lasted 4 days...

I wonder what's going on with my body, could I possibly be pregnant and maybe that's why my period was so short??

Thoughts please

You really need to take a test - and no, if you had sex two days before your period, and a 4 day period, I do not believe you are pregnant.   You must realize no one here can diagnose you as pregnant over the internet - but from what you've said, the chances are practically none.

Please read the newbie blog (in the sticky thread at the top of the page).  I see that you had a loss last year, very sorry for your loss, but false hope that you may be pregnant despite having your period - is probably not helpful, when you can take a HPT and determine for sure.

If you do want to take a more proactive approach to TTC, or just learn your cycles, please read the newbie blog and consider signing up for Fertility Friend (link in most of our siggies) and taking the tutorials - it will help you know what's going on with your cycle.

  • Really, the reproductive health they teach in grade/high school is terrible.  If you want to know what's going on in your body, I would recommend picking up a copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility."  It demystifies the whole thing and really lets you know why your body is doing what it's doing.

Prior to reading it, I actually thought that you were fertile up to the day of your period.  Learning about when things can happen, what is going on inside, when ovulation actually occurs makes you feel less confused when your cycle is longer or shorter than "normal."

  • If it will ease your mind, take a test.  It's unlikely it will be positive though.

I thought I had a normal cycle until I starting charting and ultimately learning about my body. I found out it's actually quite normal to have cycles that differ month to month.

    Best of luck to you.
