Question: Sunday we are making a ham dinner and for the sides I want to try something new. What do you have with your ham?

No clue. Probably leftovers and frozen burritos, and the turnips I roasted last night so they wouldn't go bad. Its going to be a fast dinner...driving up to Penn state tonight for a weekend wedding!

DH is working late and SS is going with my parents and niece to a local boardwalk for rides and junk food.....so I'm on my own.  Hmmmm....lefotvers or order chicken franchese (LEMONS!!!!!!!!!).

@venussapphire mac and cheese? Or bake off some cubed potatoes with a little oil and a packet of onion soup mix or Ranch mix?

ETA - side suggestions.

Made steak nachos last night so most likely either steak quesadilla or steak quesadilla soup I like either mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, or Mac n cheese with my ham. Twice bakedd potatoes be good too.

We are having beef enchilada with Spanish rice.

As for the ham, I'm not sure. I don't ever do ham dinners. Sorry.

potato salad or au gratin potatos go well with ham.

any kind of veggie,  cauliflower, corn, peas.....

 

For my dinner.....not sure yet !    Whoever mentioned the mcdonalds cheeseburgers in the cravings thread has me thinking some dirty fast food burgers would be awesome for dinner!    ha ha......either that or maybe some cheesy crescent roll hot dogs.     I also have some steak ums and some bell peppers.....or maybe biscuits with sausage gravy......I think I might be hungry now.....HA HA HA HA!

We are having chinese from the freezer section  Never tried it but it looks yummy.  General Tsao's chicken, lo mein and fried rice.

For the ham, scalloped potatoes and fresh green beans used to be my fave.

Tonight I'm going to my mom's for dinner and I guess we're grilling burgers.  Not sure what we're having with them.  I hope potato salad!

@Dimples0101 They are so good. It's one of DH's creations. Its just cripsy tater tots topped with taco seasoned ground beef and toppings (cheese, tomatoes, green onions, olives and lime creama (sour cream with lime juice and zest)

Ho ho ho, I am gonna win this thread tonight. Went to my favorite bar to pick up one of their coal fired pizzas: shaved asparagus, secret white garlic sauce, guanciale, parmesan, and a truffled egg on top.

I wish I could share it, I mean I would order a whole second one for you because this one is all for me.

DH was working late so I treated myself to my favourite frozen pizza- it has chicken, bacon, mushrooms, spinach and béchamel sauce. I covered it in hot sauce and OMG nom nom nom. Also, someone mentioned freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in another thread and I had to make cookies, so I had a delicious dessert of cookies and milk.

Re: ham dinner. As others said I usually make scalloped potatoes (it's pretty much the only time I make them!) and some sort of green veggie like green beans or broccoli. I have also made baked beans to go with ham too. That being said I don't usually make ham in the summer so I don't have any hot weather ideas. I think some sort of potato is a must though!

ETA: forgot to mention the cookies!
