Misspelling problem

My husband and I both love the name Alistair, but I'm a little concerned people would spell his name wrong often. I have asked a couple close family members and they said they would assume it's spelt Alister. My husband and I always thought that Alistair was a decently common name so we were sort of taken my surprise. So how would you spell it? And do you think it may be a issue when he is in school and such? My first son's name is William, so I prefer easy spelt, classic timeless names. Thanks in advance.

Re: Misspelling problem

  • I would spell it like you, but Alistair isn't a super common name in the US (not sure if that's where you are located) so i could maybe see why some aren't familiar with the spelling.

Just correct anyone that misspells it.  Great name.

Unfortunately I think no matter what it will probably get misspelled a lot since there are many ways to spell it, but I think you should still go for it, I like it and obviously your husband and yourself love it so it would be worth the correcting in the long run!!!
