GD test rant

I am here at the lab for my 2 hour GD test. I haven't had anything to drink or eat since 7pm. They not only do not have my orders, they don't have a few others. I have to wait for my doctor's office to open so we can get the orders so I can start this damn thing.

I have a feeling this is going to be a long day

Ugh. How frustrating. That happened to me on Friday when I went to take mine. The lady couldn't find the order so I had to sit around for a bit and wait for her to get a new one. I was able to have breakfast before I came though.
Sorry you have to wait. I would be indulging after the test personally

Argh - that sucks!  Mine will be at 8 but 7 is just inhumane.  Second vote for indulging as soon as possible!

Usually I'm the one who forgets my paperwork at the lab! That's bad enough. I hope they get you started soon.

Oooooo that's frustrating.  I guess this is one plus of having to bring your own requisition.

Uggh...that sucks. I've had that happen with other lab work and its super frustrating. Hope it all gets resolved soon - they should know better than to keep a pregnant fasting woman waiting. For once glad I have a lab requisition form to bring in with me next week when I go for my 1-hour.

Ugh I'm so sorry!! I feel your pain. When i had mine i hadn't eaten since 7 the night prior didn't get in to take test until 10 so didn't eat until past noon.

Sorry you had to deal with that!  Now I'm glad at my office they gave me the lab order to bring in myself.

Thanks ladies, I survived!  I ended up getting to eat and drink around 11:30 am.  I am so glad that it is over with.  My doc said she had given me my lab orders at my last appointment but all I had were my instructions.

Glad you made it through your test!  So happy my Dr. has a lab within the office.  Got to take the drink home after my last appointment and will drink it at home and show up at Dr. office 45 minutes after drinking it.

Pretty much 85% of the OBs in our town are housed at the woman's hospital and they all use the same effn lab.  It is ridic!  Also, most of the doctors here don't do the 1 hour test.  2 hours is standard around here so it requires fasting for 12 hours and taking a blood draw before they even let you drink the stuff.
