What do you think of my stash?

So I've been piecing together a stash and I'm wondering what you all think of it so far and if you think I need more.

NB

- 5 BG AIO

- 2 THX AIO

I also plan to get 24 NB sized prefolds and hopefully a few workhorses as well

OS

- 5 Baby City Pockets

- 3 Sweet Cheeks Pockets

- 5 THX AIO

- 3 Kawaii Pockets

- 2 Grovia Hybrid Shells

- 1 Softbums Omni

- 1 Rumparooz Pocket

- 2 Blueberry Deluxe Pocket

I also have 6 Thirsties Duo Size 1 covers and just ordered some charcoal bamboo, bamboo and hemp inserts to try.

Thoughts? I feel like I'm pretty close (at least a good starting stash) - if we like prefolds+covers during the NB stage then we will size up as we go.

I would get a few NB covers as well. The size 1s probably won't fit right away.

Looks like a pretty good start. The thirsties size 1s may or may not fit right from the start. I think they would have fit my DS2 but I know several ladies on here whose LOs didn't fit them for 2-4 weeks.

I would want some newborn specific covers.  I really liked Bummis for the nb stage and I was surprised how much I loved Bambino Mio

I agree with the NB covers.  Our thirsties size 1 fit okay, but I much preferred the bummis NB cover we had.

Are you set for all the accessories etc that you need?  CD-safe diaper cream and detergent, cloth wipes (if you're planning on using cloth), wet bags, and snappis/pins are all things that come to mind.

Ditto. Our thirsties 1s would have worked I they had to, but the xs were much better.

Thanks ladies! I added some NB covers to our registery

@musicalsilver we don't have all the supplies yet but have pretty much all that (pail liners, wet bag, cream, cloth wipes and snappis) are all on our registry. We have a shower this weekend and another later in July so whatever we don't get we'll snag at that point. The one thing I'm still hung up on is what detergent to use. I was thinking of just Tide Original but I don't really know!! That's my last hurdle!

I was about to start a thread just like this. I just went through and counted up my stash and was wondering what else I needed. FTM and clueless to cloth. No one that I know has ever done it.

So far stash consists of:

6 newborn covers (rumparooz)
Was going to add prefolds to our registry. How many?
OS:
32 pockets (various brands)
66 inserts (microfiber)

Plus a large wet bag for home and two little ones for travel.

Any recommendation on accessories, detergents, etc. or things to add???

If you want to wash EOD during NB stage get a total of 36 changes. My preference for that stage would be a mixture of prefolds, flats and GMD workhorses. I'd also get one or two more covers. Maybe something like Blueberry Mini Coveralls or sweet pea NB covers. That way you have some variety in case you don't like the fit of the RaR.

32 OS changes are good, but keep an open mind. You may want to add some fitteds for ON and some AI2s for the diaper bag.

Accessory wise definitely get another large wetbag so you have one to use while washing the other.

Have you considered what CD safe cream you want to use? I love coconut oil for everyday and Earth Mama Angel Baby or CJs butter for rashes.

You'll want 2-3 snappis for fastening prefolds or flats. And eventually you may want a diaper sprayer, but you don't need one until LO is eating solids consistently. Also it's not a bad idea to buy or may a few fleece liners. They are great to have around if LO has a wetness sensitivity or if you need to use something not CD safe on baby's butt.

Are you planning on cloth wipes? Aim for 36-48 of them.

Detergent is tough. What works for one combo of washer type, water type, and diaper type, is terrible for another. I'd start with something you can get locally and try it out. You can always strip and try something new. Pinstripes and Polka dots website is great for figuring out what's safe.
