Doesn't it depend a lot on your skin tone? I never had one, but I'm very fair (I buy makeup called "porcelain" or "ivory") and I thought usually it shows on skin with more pigment. Also, I don't think it looks bad at all so I don't think you should worry if it lingers.
Mine was very dark with DS1, took about 4 months to go away completely. I never even noticed one this time around until after DS2 was born. It's much lighter. I'm 5 weeks PP and it hasn't begun to fade yet.
Mine was pretty dark but at 7+ weeks out it's faded a lot- it's almost gone above my belly button and much less noticeable below. The only thing that bugged me about it was that it was crooked once it crossed my belly button and that offended my sense of symmetry

This was same with me! So crooked at the belly button and below!
I still had a faint line from DS when I got pregnant again at 12 mo PP. It hasn't really gotten a lot darker this time, though. Strange how it's different every time.
Re: Linea negra por siempre (forever)?
Was really dark with DD, not as dark this time, but definitely there.
