Just wondering how long your linea negra has lasted. I'm ~2weeks postpartum and it has shown no signs of fading.

Re: Linea negra por siempre (forever)?

  • It slowly fades over time.
Was really dark with DD, not as dark this time, but definitely there.

  • Mine got darker after birth and my stomach shrinking.

  • I didn't even notice mine until after I gave birth. Mine always fade over time.
  • I was wondering the same thing! I'm almost 4 weeks PP, and it hasn't gone down at all.

  • I didn't think I had one. It showed up after birth, even my dh was asking what it was.

  • Mine went away completely with DD1 and it was pretty dark. Not sure how long it took, but it was definitely a couple of months.
  • Mine took a long time to go away after DD1, maybe a whole year even!

  • Doesn't it depend a lot on your skin tone?  I never had one, but I'm very fair (I buy makeup called "porcelain" or "ivory") and I thought usually it shows on skin with more pigment.  Also, I don't think it looks bad at all so I don't think you should worry if it lingers.

  • Mine from DD hung around for at least a year.
  • Mine was very dark with DS1, took about 4 months to go away completely.  I never even noticed one this time around until after DS2 was born.  It's much lighter.  I'm 5 weeks PP and it hasn't begun to fade yet.

  • Mine never went away from my first pregnancy, but there is only 7 months in between pregnancies, so it's hard to say.
  • It takes a while to go away.  Like that whole layer of skin cells has to die off and shed.

  • I'm 4 weeks PP and mine has gotten darker?? However, I do believe your pigmentation plays a role, I'm African Amer
  • Mine was pretty dark but at 7+ weeks out it's faded a lot- it's almost gone above my belly button and much less noticeable below. The only thing that bugged me about it was that it was crooked once it crossed my belly button and that offended my sense of symmetry ;)

This was same with me! So crooked at the belly button and below!

Yeah mines pretty crooked as well. I noticed the unevenness during pregnancy but now it's even more jagged.
  • I still had a faint line from DS when I got pregnant again at 12 mo PP.  It hasn't really gotten a lot darker this time, though.  Strange how it's different every time.
