I need to talk.

Re: I need to talk.

  • I didn't know about the car accident. I am so sorry that you all went through that. I have no additional advice, suggestions, or questions, but I just wanted to say that I know you feel like a shitty mom, but you're a freaking AMAZING mom. Your girls are lucky to have you, and you will get through this somehow.

I don't like the phrase, "threw a fit" coming from a professional.

This is really bugging me too

  • So much, so here's a list:

    1.  I'm really sorry about the car accident.  That sounds like it was terrible.

    2.  For sure, I would ask for her to be back in the other room with the teacher she is comfortable with, immediately.

    3.  I agree with everyone here (and probably every rational person in the world) that their list is complete BS.  The behaviors are really typical for the age, and WTF does "had to be physically removed from playing" mean?   Why? How?  What choices was she given?  Was she given a time warning or a countdown?

    4.  I know you've said that there isn't really much else available to you in the way of daycare at the moment, which sucks, and staying home doesn't sound like a great alternative.  I second the idea of finding a nanny or in home situation, if you must, because this DCP sounds awful.

    5.  My DD started really acting up (at home, and drop off) when she was 2ish.  I thought it was just a phase until I walked in to pick her up one afternoon and found her teacher (the nicer one, I thought) full on yelling at another 2 year old and calling her names.  I pulled DD that week and her behavior changed overnight.  /anecdote.

I am really, really sorry that you're going through this.  It just sounds like your DD is strong willed, and DC doesn't know very much about child development and behavior strategies.
  • Even is this didn't start at the time of the accident it still could be trauma related. Sometimes it takes a while for a child to process a traumatic event. She might be going through a phase of processing where she's scared something is going to happen to her if you leave. It could also be that it's a separate trauma from the accident. Maybe something that happened at daycare.

I hope that you get answers from talking to them.
  • I'm sorry that your family is dealing with this madness.

  • Let us know how it goes.

I'm really sorry for what you're going through. It's awful and heartbreaking to leave your kid screaming every morning and the fact that your DCP is acting like it's yours or N's fault enrages me.

My kid has to be physically restrained every morning. Everymothrrfuckingmorning. He's a sensitive kid. You guys know her best, if you don't think there's an issue tell them to go fuck themselves.

  • I am SOO sorry about your DCP.

But seriously? That list is completely laughable.

Reese does a few things on that list every day---and if you observed her weekly, the list would be 10 times as long. Seriously? What kid DOESN'T throw a fit that age when they don't get there way. I want that one!
