Re: Weekly check-in, 6/25

  • 1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    8/8, 33w5d, durian

    2) Age at delivery? (optional)
    39

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?
    One dog

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?
Slower and more tired. Having more BH contractions.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Well, the past week has been a bit of a roller-coaster. I woke up last Thursday morning and had some bleeding right away. I was so scared! DH called the doc and rushed me to the hospital, where I ended up spending two days in L&D for observation.

Fortunately, the baby looked great the whole time. Ultrasounds show that he's growing well, his heartbeat is good, blood oxygen is good, etc. The bleeding stopped and has stayed away (FX that that was it!), so I am back home now and on light duty (no exercise, no sex, etc., but I can get up and move around a bit - I can even leave the house). I want this baby to stay put for several more weeks!

I have a regular appt. with my OB today, so it will be good to check baby's hb and such.

QOTW: What is your current baby-related project or focus?
The car seat arrived yesterday, which felt like our last major need. I need to pack my hospital bag, and we'll put the finishing touches on the nursery in the next week or so.

    3) Any other children? Furbabies? 1 Daughter, 1 Dog

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week? Still nauseated. Switched to new medicine so hopefully things let up. Plus I'm headed into the 2nd tri.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves? NT Scan tomorrow.

QOTW: What is your current baby-related project or focus? Not much. I have no energy to do much of anything except keep food in my stomach. When I do feel better I'm going to finish decorating DD's room and start planning the nursery.

  • 1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?
    1/24/15, 9 weeks, 4 days, Green Olive

    2) Age at delivery? (optional)
    36

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?
Nope - this is our first of any kind :)

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?
M/S worsened this week but at least my cold/bug/fever that I had last week is gone.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
Next appointment is with our OB on the 9th.  And we 'graduated' from our RE yesterday!  Next milestone - I get to stop the Crinone suppositories at the end of this week - YAY!

QOTW: What is your current baby-related project or focus?
DH doesn't want us (ok, me) buying anything (else) until we clear the 1st trimester.  (I only bought 2 stuffed animals - and of course pregnancy books - latter he is ok with).  My main focus is getting through each day since the nausea is so bad.  However I did dig out the baby blanket I started for my nephew over 7 1/2 years ago.  I brought it into a knitting store, and they basically had me start over... so that is my new project - hopefully this time I will finish it!  It is blue but with some purples so it can go for a boy or a girl.

@lady2010 - I love the color choices for the blanket.  Now I want to dig out some baby knitting...

@ourlittlecupid - Bloating is absolutely normal.  It will probably go down a little soon.

@mandyreads - I envy you those naps!  I definitely want one, but my 4 year old doesn't understand.  (Nor have we told her I'm pregnant.)

I still don't have many symptoms, but they are starting.  I am unreasonably tired, my breasts are a bit achey, and I'm having definite food aversions.  This morning I gagged at the smell of bread.  Bread?!?  Given that I'm still realy scared of losing this baby and notice every little abdominal twinge, I'm happy to have the symptoms.
    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

We started a major renovation after we found out we were expecting as well (although we stayed in the house, so I am guessing ours was not as involved as yours). We just finished it at the end of May, and it was such a relief to have that off the list. I doubt it would have ever happened once the baby arrived.

    Good luck!
