Re: CPW: Bed-rest/restricted duty roll call

  • I am on light duty, which means rest as much as possible, but I am allowed to leave the house, walk into stores, walk around my house, etc. No lifting, no exercise and no sex.

Up until 32 weeks, I was walking 2-3 miles per day and going to Zumba twice a week. I am now a week into my "light duty" routine, and I am missing my walks so much.

It's for a good cause, though, and I am keeping my eyes on the healthy baby prize!

Scheduled bed rest here. I have to rest 1 hour of every 3. In those 2 other hours I can do only mild "exercise" activities. I can't walk more than 20 min in a row. In total 30% of my day I have to spend it resting.... Not like it happens really, since I have a nearly 3yo that needs constant attention... but I try my best :)

  • Pelvic rest here. Low-lying placenta diagnosed 3 weeks ago. I'll likely have to be on it until third tri, when they check again and see if my placenta has moved up. It sucksssssss since this is the third time I've been put on pelvic rest this pregnancy. Poor DH!

That is a total drag. :-P

I am hoping I am not on pelvic rest for the duration, because then we'd be looking at three months of no sexy time between now and through post-partum. We'll have to get creative, I guess.

  • I had two weeks of pelvic rest at 10 weeks due to random bleeding.  It didn't seem to have a cause and went away after two days.  Hoping to avoid having any other kind of rest for the remainder of this pregnancy.
