help with baby sleeping in crib

Sorry if this is repeat topic... I need serious help on getting my LO to sleep in her crib as opposed to sleeping in my bed. She is almost 8 weeks old and will not have anything to do with it. She is EBF if that makes a difference. Im a FTM Helppppp

Re: help with baby sleeping in crib

  • We're struggling with this issue too. We're also putting DS in his crib during the day for naps, etc. but at night we start out in the crib knowing he will wake up in about 30 min and need to be consoled. We then calm him down and put him in his rnp which is right next to his crib. Hoping that we're at least getting him used to being in his room. I guess we're just taking baby steps!

  • I don't have any tips specific to transitioning other than to maybe just try again in a few weeks. With our first, we moved him from the co-sleeper bassinet in our room to his crib in his own room at two months old in just a night. We just put him there instead of by us, and he took to it just fine. By then we'd established somewhat of a bedtime routine, so I think he was sleeping better in general.

  • Transitioning slowly and keeping things as similar to what the kid is used to worked for my son. Ie if they are used to a swaddle, a certain night light and a fan for white noise, use those in the new location until they are adjusted. Bedtime routine helps, too.
