I accidentally drank

I worked at a restaurant tonight, and the pastry chef gave me a milk shake. I drank it, and it was awesome! Only after I finished it off did someone tell me it had vanilla porter in it. I'm sure I will be fine, and the pasty chef doesn't know I'm pregnant, so I am not mad at her. I just wish I had known.

It was really good! I didn't even taste any alcohol. Vanilla porter, milk, and vanilla toffee ice cream. I would understand it having alcohol if it came from the bartender, but the dessert lady?! I'll have to start asking more questions.

You are fine. I'm sure of it. Alcohol is usually only detrimental with continued heavy use. A one time occurrence won't have an effect.

Think of all the people who continue with their normal drinking (sometimes heavily) before they know they are pregnant.  And I sure it was a small amount of beer if you couldn't taste the alcohol.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it, a small amount shouldn't hurt. I was in a beer 101 class yesterday at work and it was torture! LOL I smelled everything and then pretended to sip. Thankfully no one caught on.

It's normal to worry, but I'm sure it's fine. Like others have mentioned, some people drink for weeks into their pregnancy because they don't even know they're pregnant. It was't like you went on an all night bender. 

Besides, as you can see, most of us are a teeny bit jealous anyway.

I was one of those people drinking daily when I was pregnant with my first before I knew I was pregnant. I have always had a cocktail with dinner and by the time I realized I was pregnant I was 7 weeks along. I have a very happy, healthy, developmentally advanced 11 month old. Don't beat yourself up momma!

Like everyone else is saying, don't worry. Just had my first appointment yesterday and mentioned I had had two rather heavy night so drinking before I realized I was pregnant. The Ob said there is absolutely nothing to worry about!

Some studies show as much as a glass of wine drunk slowly daily throughout pregnancy has no effect on the baby. Certainly a drink every now and then will be fine. Personal choice, but your baby will be totally fine.

I did the same thing at a party recently. Turns out the punch was spiked! (On purpose). My pregnant friend and I were both drinking away before we found out. I didn't taste it at all. Ah well.

One small amount of alcohol isn't enough to do much. There was probably an ounce or less in that shake, so you should be fine. But hey, at least it tasted good right?!

That sounds really good.  And I don't even like milk shakes.  I'm finding a lot of things I was never into before suddenly look and sound really good.

DH and I spent the entirety of last week on vacation with friends. At only 5 weeks at the time, we weren't telling anyone but knew if I constantly passed up wine at dinner, EVERYONE would know. So the hubby drank all my drinks while our friends weren't looking. No one was the wiser but oh man was it the hilarious weekend! I'm sure you're fine - you didn't get smashed ;-)
