Blake has turned into the terrible two terror overnight. He spits, hits, kicks, throws everything. Its making me batty.
Any tips you do to help this go smoother?

Re: We have hit the terrible twos...
Colton has his moments, but things have been getting better as communication between us and I have noticed far better days when we are able to keep closer to a schedule for him. A nap that is too short/late makes things harder later. He also has been very Daddy-clingy lately, since DH has been going back to long summer working hours.
I try to get him to talk to me & say how he is feeling. I try to reassure him that I do understand what he is wanting, but this is the reason he cannot have it... OR I understand how that can make him feel mad/angry/sad. When it is a tantrum over something very silly (even for him) he is probably tired. Just this week, actually, he shocked me. He came into DS2's room to tell me he was "mad." It was awesome - not that he was mad, of course, but because he came to me to tell me how he was feeling! I was able to ask him why was he mad. It happened to be because daddy said no to something. So we were able to talk about what daddy said no to & why. I really try to emphasize that his feelings are normal, but I want to help him find ways to handle them. (sounds a whole lot easier than it is - I know!)
As far as reading material, I personally like the approach of almost anything from Dr Sears. This link may have some helpful info.
