Help! We just moved into MIL's for the summer before we buy a house in September. A keeps asking to go "home." It's heartbreaking.

Do we being him by the old house to walk through and see it's not "home" anymore or do we just keep explaining that Nana's is our home right now??

ETA: we're still packing the old house and have until June 30th to be out. So, some of our stuff is still there.

Thanks ladies - our gut said don't go back, but wanted to make sure that made sense. DH suggested asking my mommy board friends :)

  • I would bring him by and let him pack up some things and help y'all move. I would exaggerate how much he's helping for our new house but maybe I'm wrong ! That's a tough situation

  • Good luck!  I would be torn too, but I agree that it's best not to confuse him by taking him back to the house.  It might make him more sad to see it empty.
