Maternity Bathing Suit Frustrations

I feel like I've looked everywhere. 

I was trying to find a cute maternity bathing suit but everywhere I check seems to be out of my size. I'm trying to get a strapless tankini. I want strapless, because I'm in a wedding in the fall and I really don't want super obvious tan lines. I want the tankini to avoid one piece struggles when I have to use the bathroom. 

It seems like an Old Navy black one will be my only option. I want something fun though, like polka-dots or stripes!

Anyone have a brand name or website that you've used? Maybe I'm just not familiar with all the maternity brands out there.

Maybe you could find one that has detachable straps, or your could just tuck the straps under. I did a quick search and found this cute one with detachable halter strap at Target:

Swimsuit shopping always seems to suck, but the whole maternity aspect sure does throw a wrench in it!

I just asked my Facebook friends about this the other day because I was stressing about going for a maternity suit or being courageous on the beach in a bikini (a scary thing for me even when I'm not pregnant!). I think I'm going to try and be brave and rock the bump in a bikini. I couldn't find any tankinis that I liked and most of the ones I saw were are crazy expensive.

I stopped by Victoria's Secret and tried on a couple for size and then went crazy online during their semi-annual sale this weekend. I picked up 4 bikinis for $100!

I just bought a plus size 2 piece from target and I love it. I love adorable in it and it has underwire for my gigantor boobs! It was like $30

I'm in your boat. I saw a strapless polkadot tankini in FitPregnancy from A Pea in the Pod, but it must be old because it's not on their website, and everything else is a pattern or really expensive. I bought a black tankini from target with white dots, but it's got criss cross straps and I may return it. I'll rock a bikini to layout on my private rooftop, but I won't subject the public eye to that!

I've been wearing my bikinis. This is my first baby. I don't have stretch marks. My belly is cute, at this point. I figure after this summer...I'll be swearing off bikinis for life.

I did get a bad tummy sunburn yesterday though.

I actually bought that old navy one on the recommendation of a friend and it fantastic. I'm generally not an old navy fan, I think their quality is questionable and sizes are usually weird. But that suit is super comfortable and flattering, and while not expensive is holding up perfectly and I've been using it a lot!

I found mine on Ebay... it stinks not being able to try it on first but there are a lot of cute ones!

Save yourself some money and wear what you have already. I just spent 10 days in the Carribean and wore my bikinis. Best part of it was not worrying about being bloated!!

There are a few strapless tankini's at Motherhood- I ended up buying a one piece from there and really liked it on vacation in Vegas! it was a Jessica Simpson one.

I also bought the old navy one in black because I'm at the beach for two weeks and wanted two swim suits. It's fine, but not as cute. Love the blue one I got at Motherhood.

i'm wearing my regular one piece and hoping it keeps on stretching w/ me.  i realize i'll never get to wear it again after all the stress i'm putting it though, ha ha. i may look into a 2nd suit in a bigger size from somewhere cheap like marshalls before summer ends.  as far as going to the bathroom, i'm lazy and just yank the crotch to the side to pee.

Just was doin the same thing. I stopped by Marshall's and tj max and found some non maternity bathing suits that stretched over the belly. Best part is they were cheap and cute.

I ordered a super cute maternity tankini TOP from Target last pregnancy.  I pair it with a couple of different bikini bottoms that I already have at home and it looks great.

I just got a really cute bathing suit top from Target and matched it with bottoms I already had.

Asos is a UK brand but they have a few options that are good online. I bought a tankini top and one piece in the same style that have detachable straps so you can do strapless.

I have a non maternity tankini from target that works perfect it has no straps and covers my stomach.

I bought a maternity tankini top at target today (first target clothing purchase everrrr!! woo!!)  - it's black with big white dots - feels very retro. Paired it with a lululemon short running skirt and I feel pretty good!

Target has a great selection but they seem to be out of my size quite a bit. Im going to keep checking!
