First ultrasound/appointment

I'm only 5wks+4 days, but because I had long cycles, my LMP put me at 10 wks, so they gave me an "early" appointment!
I was hoping I could see my lil appleseed, but only got a gestational sac, so I have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to see the heartbeat. It was the sweetest lil black blob of a sac I've seen!
Good news: I saw a NP and she cleared me for running in my half marathon in October (If I'm feeling good and not pushing myself too hard). And I also got cleared to go on my Cabo trip in November (woot woot!). No margaritas this trip for me, but at least I can look forward to some sunshine in the fall!
After the appt, DH said, "Well, I feel better now knowing you weren't just crazy, you really are pregnant...ya know, because sometimes those pregnancy tests are inaccurate... " WHAT?! I don't think 7 tests would lie, dude....Ah, gotta love em.....

Me: 27, DH: 32.

So glad you are getting approved to all the things you love.  Hopefully it will help the time past.  Good luck and FX you get to see the HB at your next u/s.

  • When do most people start getting their first OB appointments?

This is our first time and we're a bit lost as to what we're supposed to do.  We picked an OB last week, the doc wants to start seeing us at 9 weeks.  I'm a bit envious that other people seem to be getting seen by their OBs and getting ultrasounds so much sooner than me.  The wait is killing me!

I've had really bad nausea & vomitting the past week and a half then suddenly I'm feeling great since yesterday, even my boobs aren't hurting as much.  I'm currently 6 weeks + 1 day.  Getting worried :(

It's pretty typical for most OBs to schedule first ultrasounds between 8 and 12 weeks, barring a history that would warrant earlier monitoring. The wait is rough!

As far as symptoms, they definitely come and go so try not to let that stress you out too much!
