Croup

Yesterday we took ds to the ER for croup. Fortunately we caught it early and he only needed one dose of oral steroid and he stopped coughing. He's completely normal again today. But we went to the hospital where he was born. I kept thinking they would make him stay overnight and it crushed me. I know.., yes I know... He's fine and healthy and it's a normal kid cold but I had so many feelings walking back in there. It freaked me out.

I don't think dh understood why I cried when the nurse said to take him in.

Re: Croup

  • :(:(:(   I get it.  We had to take Olivia back because we couldn't reduce her umbilical hernia.  I steeled myself for exactly what you thought.. that I'd have to leave her there and go home without her.  Good news is the surgeon was able to reduce it by hand before they did anything drastic ~whew~  and we all went home.

    ~hugs~  Soo hard.

That's rough. We've been to the hospital for Croup, too, but the hospital closest to our house is not the one where I delivered, so I haven't had to deal with that.
