@PeanutbutterFox, I was listening to the 90s R&B playlist on Amazon Prime Music. So many memories and so many whytf was I jamming to these songs when I was so young. Just inappropriate. lol
I was singing Too Close by Next to DD and was like "hold up, I can't sing that to her."
I know, right? I always cringe at some of the lyrics I hear on the radio now. Hello, "Birthday Sex" I'm looking at you. Then I listen to something from my childhood, and I'm like "Oh, well I don't remember that being quite so risque." I definitely think current music is much more blatant about it, though.
90's hip hop and r&b has been on my songza and spotify at work nonstop to get me through sitting at my desk and monotonously (is this a word?)typing reports.
Lauryn Hill has got to be one of my favorites. I realy enjoy some old rap (ala Biggie and Tupac) but working in a school I can't really blast it from my computer.
Also, I am loving that my DS pretends to be Biz Markie now, and tries to beatbox. He says "Luche Biz?" (Luciano is Biz?) and makes the mouth sounds. Hi-larious.
I still remember the day I got the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. I was at Disney World of all places. My mom and I went to the Virgin Megastore so I could buy it. I listened to it on repeat (on my Discman ha!) the whole drive home from FL to VA. Then obsessively for months afterward. God, I love that album. It's just...perfect.
