What do you pack in your diaper bag?

When you are leaving the house for a few hours what are items that you pack in your diaper bag? Lately I have been feeling unprepared when I go out that I'm always missing stuff!

Re: What do you pack in your diaper bag?

  • It depends if we will be out during mealtime. If it's just a quick run, no meal needed, then I usually just bring a few diapers, wipes, snack, drink , a toy. If we are out during mealtime, I bring all of those things along with food, milk , bib, etc.

  • I still pack a pretty full bag when we leave. I'm always in the "plan for a disaster/what if you get stranded" mode. Half a dozen diapers, wipes, changing pad, bib, 2 full snack cups, food pouch, sippy with water, change of clothes, paci wipes, sun screen, books and a couple of toys.

Kudos to the mamas who downsized their diaper bags! I'm hoping I can get there before baby #2 arrives!

  • Wipes, diapers, changing pad, change of clothes for each kid, sippy cup and bibs. I always have a few snacks in there too. I usually keep spare clothes for the kids in the car in case I forget to put any in the diaper bag.

  • If we're just going to the store, I usually don't bring anything for him. If we are gonna be out for awhile, I will bring an extra diaper and a couple toys. If we are going out to eat, I also bring a snack for him to eat while we're waiting for the food to come and a straw cup or sippy cup. I always keep a pack of wipes in the car. I am a huge believer in traveling light, and since we cloth diaper, he never has blow outs.

  • I have a 31 utility tote in the back of the car that's packed for trips to the pool. A few diapers, wipes, wet bag, swimsuit, couple of towels, sunscreen, extra romper etc. ride with me all the time. Phee always has a cup of water with her so I never worry about packing it. We don't do a diaper bag everywhere we go anymore. It was harder to give up while cloth diapering, but such a relief to not carry it around anymore. If we need anything we just run to the car.

  • Everything, lol.

I use the bag I have as a diaper bag/purse. It's super roomy, and has lots of pockets/compartments. For DD, I bring diapers, wipes, change of clothes, bib, food pouches, sippy cup, snack container filled with puffs/cheerios, pacifier, tylenol.

I also have my necessities in there -- wallet, phone, keys, etc.

And I also carry a small zippered pouch that goes in there with DS' EpiPen and Benadryl melts for his food/seasonal allergies.

2-3 diapers, wipes, wet bag, extra outfit, sunscreen, sometimes my ring sling

That's usually it. Sometimes a cup of goldfish and a sippy of water, depending on the time. I usually have my water bottle, and she can drink from that.
