What kind of exercise do you do, and how frequently?

Any mini victories you wish to share?

And for fun—what is your favorite healthy snack?

My Answers:

I am a weightlifter primarily with a small amount of HIIT. Currently, I am on week 8 of “Simply Shredded” which is a weight lifter program for women. I just finished “Get Swole” which was INTENSE, and I built a ton of muscle doing it. Right now—I want to lose about 4lbs to get rid of the last of my bulk weight. I am trying to lost a ½ lb a week so my abs will show through. I lift about 4 days a week.

Mini victory: I lost 30lbs of fat, gained 18lbs of mass, and can now deadlift almost 200lbs!

Favorite snack: ½ cup 2% cottage cheese with a ¼ cup of raw, unsalted almonds on top. Great protein and energy booster!

  • Haha @lgsdesigner, you and I must have both been thinking out loud because I just started another "getting healthy check-in". lol

What kind of exercise do you do, and how frequently?
Up until today I usually did a 45 minute working starting out with 15 mins of cardio (eliptical meets stair master) then about 15 mins of strength training (free weights, squats, kettle bell things, wall balls, etc) and then finish up with 15 mins on the treadmill (trying to work myself up to do a 5k) I would do this same cycle like 3-4 days a week. Now I'm going to incorporate a bit more strength training, so it will be Day 1: Arms / Day 2: Cardio / Day 3: Legs and Abs / Day 4: Cardio

Any mini victories you wish to share? I was able to receive constructive criticism from my husband, am taking it to heart, and made a diligent effort to get back on track this week.

And for fun—what is your favorite healthy snack? I would probably say yogurt with some fresh fruit and a sprinkle of granola.

  • What kind of exercise do you do, and how frequently? I'm getting back in shape after letting myself go a bit (stupid polar vortex keeping me inside for months! Grrrrrr.). I walk about 10 miles a week (my job is within walking distance of home), and I'm adding 5-10 miles of jogging on a treadmill to that weekly total. I also do about 5-10 minutes of yoga before bed.

Any mini victories you wish to share? I got up early this morning and did two miles on the treadmill! Related: I figured out how to work the treadmill in my building's gym (so! many! buttons!).

And for fun—what is your favorite healthy snack? Greek yogurt with a bit of honey, or almonds.

Me: 38 DH: 40 TTC#1 (and likely only) since 9/13. Saw RE 5/14, SA good, AMH 2.36, FSH 7.2, estradiol 69.6 indicating good egg reserve. Using OPKs. First Letrozole cycle 6/14, a burst cyst and a BFN. Second Letrozole cycle 7/14, BFN.

Update 11/14 - had laparoscopy 10/28, good news is that my uterus and left tube look good, and they were able to drain the cyst on my left ovary. Bad news is that right tube and ovary have endo and scar tissue, so they're pretty useless.. Best news is that we finally have some answers and a path forward. Taking 7.5 mg letrozole CD 2-6 to put that good left ovary through its paces.

UPDATE 2/2015 - We switched to another fertility clinic, but fortunately we don't have to start all over. We're doing two cycles of Clomid plus IUI, if neither of those take, we'll do IVF in April, potentially with ICSI. (DH's SA has gone downhill, likely due to excessive exercise.) IUI#1 2/25/15....
  • Omg I just did 30 min of yoga and then 30 min of Pilates. Can I curl into a ball a die now. I'm sooooo out of shape.

  • @hooligans4 - Pilates is AWESOME, though. Your body will transform rather quickly!
  • I was really depressed this morning when I pulled on my gym clothes and they were all too tight. Ugh....it's been way too long since I worked out regularly. Thankfully my office is next to a Marshall's and I was able to pick up a few things on my lunch break.

I might just keel over before I see a transformation.

  • What kind of exercise do you do, and how frequently?
I run on the treadmill for a good 30 minutes and then do some free weights.

Any mini victories you wish to share?
    Since November, I've lost 35lbs!

And for fun—what is your favorite healthy snack?
I would have to say peach flavored yogurt.

  • What kind of exercise do you do, and how frequently?A weekly program of: 3-5 hrs of walking, 1x HIIT session (now on elliptical, hoping to progress to sprinting), 2x body weight exercises (planks, squats, push-ups, pull-ups).
Any mini victories you wish to share?Happy to be working out after a setback due to a bug
And for fun—what is your favorite healthy snack?Organic nuts
  • (child mentioned)

What kind of exercise do you do, and how frequently?

    • I walk the dog (leisurely, with the LO on my back) for about an hour a day altogether.
    • I go to spinning class once or twice a week.
    • I'd like to go to Zumba at least once a week.

Any mini victories you wish to share?

I found out that the spinning/TRX gym a couple of blocks away has childcare for some classes. This allows me to do cardio again. Also, LO loves to play with the toys and cars in the childcare room. Awesome.

And for fun—what is your favorite healthy snack?

My favorite healthy snack would be nonfat Greek yogurt with some fruit and honey. I love the idea of cottage cheese and almonds, though. I need more protein.

I work out six days a week for about an hour. During the week after work I usually trail run a couple days, do weights & cardio or swimming at the gym one day, and go to the indoor rockclimbing gym one day. I'll sub with a Jillian Michaels or P90X video if pressed for time. I'll spend the weekends rockclimbing or mountain biking (or some other outdoor adventure :)

  • @mindaa- Good for you! I love hearing you go 6 days a week. I used to do that when I was just a cardio bunny, but as a heavy weight lifter, I need some days inbetween!
