Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Sleep woes

19 months
Goes down no problem. Yesterday was the 1st 1.5 hr nap in 2 weeks. Others are 45 minutes then very cranky!
Used to sleep 8-6. Now waking up 5:15 & crying. Let her CIO tol at least 5:30. Sometimes will go back down for 10 or 15 mins. tried putting her to sleep 15 or 20 minutes early. Did not work. Tried for the last week. normally would not be much of a problem, but we have 3 month old triplets and I am usually up feeding them around 4.
Ideas?

Re: Sleep woes

  • Could her teeth be bothering her? Is she on just 1 nap or 2 still? Maybe she needs to go to bed a little earlier than 8 pm because she is over tired. Is her room very dark in the morning or could the daylight be waking her up early?
  • I don't think she's teething. Her first molars all popped through at least 6 weeks ago.
her room is very dark.. She does have very large windows and even Eyebrow windows, but she never has a problem going to sleep even during the bright lights of the day. She takes a nap usually at 1. We have moved it forward to 1230 in case she is overtired and that seems to help occasionally.I have heard it going to bed earlier can help sleep later and I believe it is true . how does one approach this?
    any other ideas? Thanks

  • Maybe you could try to push her bedtime earlier by 10-15 min. every few days and see if that helps. I found this chart and group to be very helpful as sleep resources.
    Sleep/WT chart:

    Hope this helps!
