Well it actually happened....
I met my husband 7 years ago. He had a vasectomy while with his ex wife for her medical reasons years prior. Then they divorced....
He figured he didn't want children, loved them but didn't want any of his own. I have a son (who is almost 17 now). I came to terms long ago about not having more children, I love him and that was all I needed. I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt knowing I was giving up more children. Long story short he came up to me and told me he wanted children, his own!
Because of the vasectomy (13 years ago) the Dr is recommending IVF. I'm scared to death. I want this so much that I'm so afraid it won't work. I'm 36 he's 38. I never thought I would want children at this age. I always told myself if I didn't have more by 33 then that was it. Now I find myself hoping for what I thought was impossible and trying to find a way to make it work, financially etc.
I've been trolling around the forums trying to read up on everything I can. I don't want the rest of my family (parents etc) to know what we are doing yet but need to find an outlet and someone to talk to about this.

I have 2 children from a previous marriage 20 and 15. I had said for years I was done. Then I met my husband, he has no children and desperately wants one of his own. Now I'm doing whatever it takes to have a child for him. We just did IVF and am now waiting on genetic testing and hopefully will be doing a FET in august. When we started this journey we said IVF was off the table and now were saying we will even do another cycle if we needed to. It's scary at first but we are managing it.
