Rolling over in sleep!

My 3 1/2 month baby has recently started rolling over and is even doing it in his sleep. I will roll him back to his back, but he will just roll back over usually. All I hear is that they shouldn't sleep on their stomachs because they can suffocate. Anyone deal with this or have words of wisdom?

You don't have to roll him back over. Once he can roll on his own he is fine to stay that way. Continue to place him on his back when you lie him down, but once he turns over you can leave him like that.

DD started doing that a few weeks ago. She is almost 6 months. She not only rolls but scoots and turns in her crib. I don't turn her over but I do check that she is breathing. the only time she gets turned over is when it is the middle of the night and we can't find the pacifier. She's usually laying on top of it.

He has never liked being swaddled so I gave up on that after a month!

Mine does this as well, doc said it's fine if she can get there by herself. I do check on her more than I used to at night for my own sanity and stopped the swaddles/sleep sacks.

As soon as my daughter learned to roll over, she also became a stomach sleeper. Every night since when I put her down on her back she almost immediately rolls over and gets comfy on her stomach. I check on her during the night, but she's been just fine so I don't worry about her, I just let her sleep how she wants.
