NCDR: fever

I find myself generally agreeing with parenting styles of this board, so I hope you don't mind my asking here. P has had a low fever all day, between 99.2 and 100.5. I haven't given Tylenol, he is super tired, napped about 8 hours today, glassy eyed, but otherwise pleasant. Nursed all day while he napped and has had wet diapers. Would you give Tylenol before bed or just let it run it's course? I don't like to give un-needed drugs but I don't want do anything to harm him either.

If he will sleep ok without it, I wouldn't give it. If he's too restless to sleep, I would give it. Any other symptoms?

I personally wouldn't unless his fever goes up or he starts seeming uncomfortable.

I medicate if I think it's going to interfere with sleep. I don't mess with sleep. I prefer ibuprofen, though.

thanks,I am leaning towards no, too.  no other symptoms, no idea where this came from. He's not even crabby which I am so thankful for. just wants to go back to sleep 30-45 min after waking up.

I agree, sound like he will sleep well without it. If the fever goes up, medicate then, but a good night sleep could break the fever by it self.

I usually give a dose before bed, only because I am worried his temp might spike and I wouldn't know it. He's a heavy sleeper. I use it sparingly otherwise. I hope tomorrow is better. Poor baby!
