I have not seen this asked yet and my apologies if it already has been...I am going to my sister's graduation tonight with DD. I have a few ounces of pumped BM in the fridge that I pumped this morning. Here is my question...how long is it good out of the fridge? Should it be room temp? Should I just put it in the diaper bag? Ice packs? I googled and got a few different answers. I may just BF her there but don't want to waste the milk I pumped (leaving for the beach tomorrow and not taking the milk with us). Thanks for everyone's insight in advance!!!
Re: Bottled breastmilk ?
I pack te breastmilk in an insulated pack (small lunch box or zipper pouch) with freezer packs. I boil water and pack it in a thermos. When I'm ready to feed, I drop the bag of frozen milk in the thermos. It is perfect temp in about 2-5 minutes. If I don't use it, it is still frozen and I can throw it back in the freezer.
