Ladies, Aunt Flow still isn't here

I have another discussion going on titled i'm new to all this so please be kind. I would read that first before commenting on this one.

Anyways, for the ladies that have already read that discussion and have commented on it.

Still no PERIOD! Day 32. (Usually I am on point or day after, 28 - 30) Breasts feel full and felt that way Wednesday at my OB appt. He asked me if they usually feel this full when pmsing and I said yes. He asked they are tender. I said no, and they still arent but yes very full. Usually they are tender to the touch.

I woke up to pee about maybe 6 am (maybe 4?) this morning. Noticed spotting on toilet paper so I figured oh well here she comes and now it's almost 10 am and still nothing.

Now I did realize that i still have all day. Lol. but usually spotting never happens with me and if so, period comes like bam! and cramps. I do not have any cramps!

Also went to bed at like 9:30 last night. I was knocked out! I did tell my husband if my period doesnt come by tonight. I am taking a test in the morning. I am not taking one now cause I don't want that no BFP disappointment.

Re: Ladies, Aunt Flow still isn't here

  • Also, could it be because of my pap. Althought I had it Wednesday early evening and I am spotting now? I'm thinking i would have spotted sooner...

  • No, you wouldn't be spotting from a pap that was Wednesday. Your cycle very much can be off because of the stress your putting on yourself. So often I hear people say I'm 100% regular and always on time, but it only takes the smallest thing to throw off your hormones which will throw off your cycle, etc! At the RE office it's always recommended to take a pregnancy test on day 31 and every 3 days thereafter if you haven't gotten your cycle until your cycle arrives or you get a positive.

  • This is ridiculous. Ive only been treated nice on my other discussion and all i was asking for was advice. Isn't that what this whole discussion threads are about?!?! advice, support and friendship?

How many tests have you taken with disappointment? Ive taken several in a 14 month time! I was asking for advice, not to be judged.. Cause we've all had disappointment and were scared and anixous.

How was I suppose to know it was "rude" to ask for advice about pregnancy symptoms? Maybe guiding me to the right thread or simply I'm sorry. I can't help you instead of judging me right off the bat.

I didn't judge you at all, and I wasn't mean to you. I'm letting you know how you come off to me, and judging by the "love its" a few other people.

As you noticed in your other thread, people here are very nice. You're welcome to stay, I just think you might want to reconsider how you participate.

  • If I was 2 days late, I'd take a test.  Any symptoms you feel can be either PMS or pregnancy...but if you have enough hormones in your system from a pregnancy to give you symptoms, then you have enough to show a positive test if indeed you are pregnant.

You can of course stay on this board!  But like PP said, it's easier for us to see certain posts like BFP announcements, questions on possible BFP symptoms, updates on your progress, etc., from those we get to know a bit more through more participation.  But if you don't participate, it's no biggie.  Plenty of people benefit on here from just lurking, reading, and learning.  Just check the newbie post before posting something related to a possible BFP.

    Good luck!

Just be aware (as you may already be to a certain degree) that because IF is so difficult and something we are all very sensitive about that whenever anyone starts listing possible pregnancy symptoms, but especially when it's someone we haven't gotten to know, it feels almost like a slap in the face. Similar to when people we know announce they're going to start trying to get pregnant and wind up pregnant the next month. Keep in mind that not only have the women here been dealing with IF for many years, some of us, but that many have gone through many unsuccessful IUIs and some have now even moved on to IVF.

The more you post and reply to other people and become more recognizable to everyone, the more everyone starts becoming invested in your journey as well.

Also, many of the women in here are taking medications that mimic pregnancy symptoms every month, not to mention that PMS and pregnancy symptoms are often the same or similar. So we typically just focus on whether we have positive tests or not.

We do all wish you luck and welcome you to the community but ask that you get to know us as well and get a feel for the community first as well.

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

I just wanted to say that I am VERY normal every month, and the month I needed to start my BCP for IVF, I was like 5 days late. I tested like twice a day until it came, which was obv a BFN. The littlest things can affect your cycle, so I would encourage you to test tomorrow if it doesn't come.

If you do get a BFN, please stick around because we are all here to support eachother. It is just difficult sometimes to hear pregnancy symptoms sometimes on this board because most of us haven't experienced it.
