Son only falls asleep with my husband

My son is 4 months old. I'm an exclusively pumping, working momma. The past 3 nights my son, who usually falls asleep while I rock/ sing to him, has screamed bloody murder while I try everything until I let my husband try. As soon as I pass him over he stops crying and falls right to sleep. We have discussed that maybe he smells milk on me but he is usually just had breastmilk from a bottle and shouldn't be hungry. My only other idea is that he is a baby who likes to be held all the time and I'm more quick to lay him in his crib/swing once he falls asleep (usually to get laundry/ dishes done) while my husband usually holds him until he's super passed out. Could he be picking up on this? Any other ideas? It's making me so sad.
