Britax pinnacle vs britax frontier?

I'm looking for a seat for my 30lb 4 year old, 39 inches. It has to be a 5 point harness....I'm looking into combination seats, so far research only, we haven't tested them out in stores yet. So I was wondering what's the difference between the two? Is it some sort of extra protection (head)? Thanks!

Pinnacle has extra foam for side impact protection. Either seat is a great choice and they are the longest lasting combination seat available.

Since there is no standard for side impact testing, there is no way to say if the pinnacle is actually 'safer'. If you have the extra cash to spend, go for it. If not, don't for a second feel bad about choosing the Frontier.

I like the look of the frontier because it looks slender, so I'm guessing it's because the pinnacle has that extra foam. Anyway, thanks for your help!

The frontier is not a 'slender' seat by any means, but it is smaller than the the pinnacle since it doesn't have the extra foam.

Do you need to do 3 across? If you only have one or two kiddos, you will be fine.

Just in case you have not heard about this resource already, Car Seats for thr Littles is a good source of info relating to car seats. They have certified Car Seat Techs who can answer quesrions in their Facebook group, and here is a list of their reccomeneded seats with reviews for them. Your type of seat is towards the end.

We will have two kids, I figured by the time we have a third, maybe I can look for a harness booster that's more narrow. Right now, I like the extra paddings as we live in NYC and it's crazy driving all around.

These are the longest lasting harness to booster seat you can buy.  When you have your third, an infant seat may puzzle very well in the middle (unless you have a teeny car), especially if you install all the seats with the seatbelt rather than LATCH. So, hopefully these will work for you for a looong time
