Aamie Rayne's Birth story...

On Tuesday June 10th, 2014 I had a routine check up where I told the doctor about a headache and some spots I was seeing. So she ordered some tests and told me to do a urine catch for 24hrs. So I went home that day and called in to work.

Wednesday June 11th, 2014 I dropped off the catch at the doctors office and went home thinking anything of it. My mom took me out to get a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. It was a relaxing day overall just hanging out tell about 1:30pm when I got a phone call from the doctors office. The doctors office told me that I had to much protein in my urine so I had to come to the hospital to be induced. I kinda went into panic mode and told my mom that it was time to goto the hospital. So I finished packing my bag told my mom to call my boyfriend at work. Then my mom and I headed to the hospital we got there around 2:40pm to be checked into my room. My boyfriend got a ride to the hospital from his boss and arrived at around 3:00pm.

I got an IV put in around 4:30pm as well as got an ultrasound to check Aamie's size and the fluid level around her. She had slightly lower fluid level and she was approximated to be around 6 1/2 lbs. The doctors then decided to try a tablet inserted into the cervix to help ripen it. At around 9:00pm my water broke and I was dilated to a 2. So the doctors decided to start a pitocin drip and let me get my first epidural so I could try and sleep. I also had a magnesium drip, iv fluids and a catheter. So I was bed bound for the duration of the labor.

I had a really bad reaction to the epidural, magnesium and the pitocin. So every time they got changed or upped I ended up vomiting profusely. The first epidural stopped working after about 8 hrs. So they sent in another guy to put in the next epidural. The nurse I had at that point kicked my mom out of the room and told my boyfriend where to go. She was not a nice lady. She also didn't listen whe I told her that upping my medication would just make me sick and turned it up anyway so I vomited again then told me I needed to stop eating ice chips because they where making me sick. I ate them anyway.

Thursday June 12th, 2014 I didn't get much sleep if any. I had continuos bouts of dizziness, vomiting and high blood pressure thru out the day and night. Still only dilated to a 2. They upped the pitocin again because the baby and my cervix decided to take a little nap. Still no progress after several hours around 2:20pm I had a little blood in my urine and epidural started to wear off again but I decided to power threw a few hours before getting my third and final epidural the gentleman that did the final epidural was amazing!! He actually asked me questions and talked me threw the hole thing, as well as, finding out why the first two didn't work. Apparently they both put it into a vain so I was not effective. The last man got a special one that had more than one opening so could do what it was supposed to once it was in. The nurse on hand asked the doctor to go above the recommended amount of pitocin twice to possibly move the labor along. Around 10:30pm I started to feel the need to push. So the doctor came in to check my dilation when she checked I was dilated to a 10 and she said it was time to push. I had the nurse call my mom who went home to take a nap after staying with me tell about noon. So I waited to push tell my mom arrived and the nurse set everything up for baby's arrival. After my mom arrived my boyfriend and my mom helped me push in time with my contractions. After about an hour and a half of pushing Aamie Rayne was born at 12:12am on Friday, June 13, 2014. She weighed 6lbs 3.5oz and was 18.5inches long.
