The other ultrasounds post made me think of this

How often ARE people on here getting them since transferring from RE? I know I got a bunch right when I found out I was pregnant, but since then.

I had one at 9 weeks (when I was released to Ob/GYN) and then at 12 weeks and now not until 20 weeks for A/S.

Is that hormal? I am 41 and did IVF, so I assume that makes me high risk.

What is the norm for everyone else?

I have had one about every two weeks since getting KU. That is partly because I go back and forth between my MFM and my regular OB. And my regular OB usually doesn't do one at the 16 week appt but he had a student with him for mine and wanted to show her the equipment so he did one.

I will have another one with my MFM July 3 and then an a/s with my OB on July 22. It has been just a combination of the two docs and luck but I have liked seeing the LO as much as I have been.

"Normal" people only get 2, one at the beginning and then the second one for gender/organs check. I'm on that schedule as well, I had my NT scan at 11 weeks, then I have one at 20 weeks, and then I'll get them I assume once I'm close to my due date to check baby's position etc.

Once you're released from your RE, you're no longer high risk, even if you did IVF. Your age might make you high risk, but not sure you would need more ultrasounds.

With the OB, I only get two - a dating u/s at my first appointment (which was at like 9/10 weeks) and the A/S.  That's it!  It's so much different than the constant monitoring we're used to at the RE's.

I had a an U/S every other week with RE, but when I started with my OB (12 weeks) she gave me an option of u/s or heartbeat... umm duh u/s.  So we got one at 12 weeks and I have not seen the baby since.  I went to my OB at 16 weeks and it was just a doppler check.  A/S will be at 19 weeks. I am not sure when I will get to see her again.  I wish I had some other ultrasounds they make me feel so much better.

I had one (and occasionally 2!) a week from weeks 5-10, but I had tons of spotting and bleeding. I had another at 12 weeks, and now I'm having to go cold turkey until 16 weeks. I'll have one every four weeks from then on out. I'm AMA and considered high risk.

My OB did US at our first appointment at 10.5 weeks (this past Monday), have NT scan this coming Tuesday, then OB is going to do another US the following week, so getting 3 US, 3 weeks in a row.  My OB is totally cool, acknowledged anxiety from IF and IVF and offered us appointments every 2 weeks instead of 4 at beginning to help transition us to a regular schedule.  Love my OB.  We talked about living in RE office and fears of waiting 4 weeks to see her/do anything and she had no problem shortening the time.

I had my first one with my OB at 10 weeks (to date) and we elected not to do a NT scan.  So, the next one will be at 20 weeks (anatomy scan).  I've hear that might be our last one....crazy to think I had 5 with my RE from week 6-9 (I had complications) and now I only get 2 with my OB.  But, I guess it is good to be just another "normal" pregnant person .

I had one with my RE at 7 weeks and was then released to my OB.  I got one at 9 weeks because I was sure something was wrong with one of the babies (nope, just me! lol).  But typically they just do them at 12 weeks if you opt for the NT scan and then at 19 week for the A/S.  They did tell me though that because I am having twins I will be having an ultrasound every month after 20 weeks and that will be done at the hospital where I am delivering.

I had 2 with my RE before being released to the OB. The OB took the second one from the RE as my first tri/dating scan. I had an either or with an nt scan and verifi testing and we elected for verifi...so my only scan with my OB was the a/s at 19 weeks. Despite being ama, I will not have another u/s unless something goes wrong.

I'm seeing a MFM who will deliver. They do a quick ultrasound each appointment if they can't find heartbeats on the Doppler (which they couldn't find for me at 12 weeks and 16 weeks so I got a quick u/s).
