Cloth Diapering

Kawaii Charcoal Diapers/Inserts

Hi,

I'm mainly a lurker but I need some answers. DD just turned two and needs more absorbency lately. I'm having to check at least every two hours lately. I think she might be holding it and then lets it go and the diaper is soaked. Or even better I pick her up and put her on my hip and my shirt is soaked :(

So far I have been enjoying kawaii. I was thinking of buying some of their charcoal diapers or inserts. Any reviews? How did you find the absorbancy? I'm on a limited budget as I also need to start buying some newborn diapers for LO#2 who is on the way.

Thank you :)

  • I'm a lurker too. When I decided microfiber inserts weren't enough, I bought some bamboo, charcoal bamboo, and hemp inserts for my BG4.0s. I have found that the bamboo and charcoal bamboo are comparable and way better than microfiber. Hemp was the best, but it absorbed more slowly, so I only use them too double up at night.

I'm interested to see what other people's experiences are.

  • Microfiber sucks. We have a bunch of the bamboo and I would like to get more. Just wondering if the charcoal ones are special vs bamboo.

  • I have one kawaii bamboo charcoal diaper. The absorbency seems fine although my LO is not a heavy wetter. The diaper comes with 2 CBI and I've always used both with the diaper and haven't had any issues. If I use that diaper for overnight I wrap one CBI in a FST and that also works.

I don't really love the diaper itself though. Compared to my other diapers it's just so big. The inserts are big too but that's a good thing IMO.
