Need a slap in the face

I'm 18 weeks today and I can't seem to stop with being worried that I have absolutely no baby bump yet! Anyone else not showing yet? I know I have wide pelvic bones so there's lots of room for baby to grow, but last week I totally felt like my uterus was starting to stick out a little and things were progressing, now I have pretty much nothing, even when I lay on my back I can barely feel my uterus anymore. It seems like things shrank! I'm trying to stay cool and not freak out, I have my anatomy scan on Monday. Anyone else go through the same experience? Thanks for your time and thoughts!

  • Your dog is cute. I'm 18 weeks with a barely there bump. Extremely jealous of HDBD. my doctor said I'd probably pop at 20 weeks since I'm on the smaller side. If I could slap you in the face I would, in a friendly way

  • I'm 5' 6" 158ish pnds, started off at 150, another girl I know in town was starting to show at 17 weeks and she's the same height as me and is a bit heavier, so I keep comparing myself to her progression through pregnancy. I know everyone is different though.
  • I was worried I wasn't showing enough and desperately wanted the bump. I swear yesterday it just popped (18 w 1 d) and now I kinda wish it hadn't yet. Grass is always greener...
  • I will be 19weeks on Saturday. I don't have a bump and on the heavyside to start. people think my gut is my bump so I just go with it. I have secret bump envy because I know it is just fat right now. don't rush it. Lol having a hard time painting toes and tying shoes before I got pregnant.

feeling like a weeble wobble isn't fun cute but not fun
  • I'm 5'6 and 135 and I don't have much of one yet, but I know it's coming (most FTMs "pop" between 18-20 weeks).  I just try to enjoy not having a bump because once I do get one, I'm sure I will be thinking about how nice it was to be small!

There are so many variations to when it is normal to show in a pregnancy! With my first I didn't really look pregnant until 7 months - this time my belly had popped a lot earlier. Don't worry at all, soon you will have a bump for sure!
  • Be glad - I've had people asking me if I am having twins because I popped about 4 weeks ago.

Enjoy the time, enjoy still wearing your normal clothes as much as you can as long as you can!

  • People at work tell me I am really tiny all the time, but I have a noticeable bump to myself compared to my PP body. Especially if you have a longer torso, or wider hips, stronger core muscles, your baby probably won't 'pop' till later. 18 weeks is still pretty early!!

  • I have a friend who is 2.5 weeks further along than I am and she isn't showing. She has a long torso, so the baby has room to expand up rather than out. She is a postpartum nurse, and when she told the other nurses in her unit at 20ish weeks, they checked her with an u/s because they didn't believe her! As PP have said, everyone is different!

Sister, I totally feel ya! I'll be 19 weeks on Sunday and I just have a chubby gut. I can't wait to have a round bump!
