Different Insurance Question - Maternity Items

Hello Ladies!

After reading posts about insurance covering breast pumps I called my provider and turns out my pump is covered! Sweet, that will save me a few hundred dollars!!

When I told DH - he said that is great, what else do they cover!? lol  That got me thinking, and I found a list of items that Durable Medical equipment companies provide and here was a list.. I haven't asked yet if my insurance picks up other things such as storage containers, but has anyone else, or is anyone else's insurance covering the items below?  I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask!! Every little bit helps

That is awesome.  My insurance company does not cover any type of pump so I am pretty sure they won't cover that stuff either.  Consider me green with envy!

This isn't always true. There are so many ways around it that there are lots that don't cover it.

In addition to the pump my insurance covered milk storage bags.

Thanks for sharing the list. My pump is 100% covered! Im going to ask about the other stuff. You might have to have an actual prescription for these things. they probably wont just give them to you. But a rx isn't hard to get, ya know...

That's nice for you! I'll have to go back and look at what DME is covered under my policy. I read through it a few months ago, and I don't recall being all that impressed.
