TTC after 35

Nipples HURT...normal????

So I'll be 35 in 2 months. I've been on BC for 20 years. I stopped taking it 3 weeks ago. We aren't "actively" trying but not using protection either. The last week my nipples started to HURT bad and I've got a crazy amount of clear discharge. I have never had discharge and even during periods my nipples don't hurt. I know my body is out of whack bcs I stopped BC after 20 years. Has this happened to any of you??? Anyone gone through this? Is this just my hormones trying to settle down or do I sound pregnant?? I took a test but even if I was I think it's too early for the test to tell. Advice??? Thanks!!!!

Re: Nipples HURT...normal????

  • After I had my IUD removed, I had a ton of hormonal pregnancy-like symptoms: nipple pain, bloating, aversions, moodiness. Until it was about 6 weeks past the removal, that is when my body got back to normal.
  • Siggy warning.

I was also on bc my whole life and when I stopped I noticed all sorts of things I hadn't experienced while on the pill. You have to remember your body will be going through a different process now with ovulation. You will probably feel things during ovulation you never felt while on the pill since it was suppressed. (This can be very helpful when TTC so pay attention!) FYI between the sore nipples and clear discharge it sounds to me like you might actually be ovulating.

If you go to Fertility Friend online you can start tracking your cycles and that can also help you figure out when you are ovulating. Good luck!
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.

  • Thanks to you all!! I have been sooooo moody and irritated and just felt "off" since I stopped the BC. I assumed it was normal hormone stuff but needed to be reassured that I wasn't crazy :-)
  • soooo....still feeling weird...took a test this morning...looks like I'm pregnant! wow that was QUICK! I don't want to tell anyone I know so I'm telling you all :-) until I see the doc and make sure all is ok. I'm a little worried...I've not stopped any of my meds which I am today and I've enjoyed many adult beverages. And I have so many questions! I just emailed my doc to set up an appointment. I had a girls dinner planned for tonight...wine and sushi...guess that's out :-)

anyway I'm excited but seriously freaked out.  I wasn't expecting it to happen so quick. I didn't even have a period after stopping my BC. I guess we'll see what the doc says.

    Thanks for listening!!!

  • Congratulations! I hope you have a H&H 9 months!

Just a gentle reminder that some of us are months and years into the TTC journey, so a *warning BFP* in the subject line goes a long way to help those having a hard time avoid anything they don't want to see. Thanks!

  • soontobeshrader thank you for the reminder...I'm sorry I would never want to upset anyone...what does BFP stand for? I'm new to the abbreviations.

    Thanks.

  • @erinmalone7622 it means big fat positive :)

  • Is there anywhere I can find all the abbreviations?? I'm having a hard time figuring them out! Thanks!
  • Congrats! @erinmalone7622 Hope it all works out :)

For the abbreviations, click on the top message (intro message) on the board.  There's a list there.
  • @NeonNoon‌ THANK YOU!! I guess I should've read that first!! Sorry I didn't know!!! One more question...what is siggy?? I didn't see that on the list.
  • @erinmalone7622 a siggy is a signature like the one I have below this (2 lines of text in purple)
  • Like I said before I am sorry I offended anyone. I'm new to all this and have no idea how all this works or what any of the abbreviations mean. I had a miscarriage. So I haven't been back so sorry I haven't put a warning before now.
  • I'm trying to erase it and/or add the warning and I have no idea how.
  • Yeah, not cool. Some of us have been trying for a LONG time and to see an announcement that you got pregnant without having to chart, temp, have months of medicated cycles, do IUIs, switch to IVF, stab your body daily with injections, oh and the lovely blood draws and ultrasounds. In the future maybe you could be a little more sensitive to us, who's journey wasn't as easy as yours.
  • Again HAD A MISCARRIAGE so not so easy. I will no longer bother your board. I'm sorry to have upset any of you. Never my plan.
  • I'm very sorry for your loss. :(

You can only edit the post or title for 1 month, which is why we encouraged it early. Look, I know you are upset, I am truly sorry for your loss. I am happy to chalk it up to a misunderstanding and I am sure many ladies here will do the same but I can't speak for everyone. Please stick around. This is a wonderfully supportive place, but we do have our norms and customs that need to be followed to avoid these types of situations. Many of us have had losses. Consider a fresh start if you are still TTC.

Agree. As you know, this can be a rough road, and we all need all the support we can get. Please do stick around.

  • I haven't been back to this site so I'm sorry I didn't change it in the one month window. Again I don't know the rules/regulations. I didn't read the intro and for that I'm very sorry. I'm so sorry that others have been manipulative and evil on this board. But I swear to all of you that was never my intention. I was confused, scared and shocked and my husband was out of town. I just wanted some advice/guidance. I didn't think it through and I'm sorry. Obviously you all don't know me or my intentions but I would NEVER try to hurt, upset or offend anyone. And I would never fish for compliments or excitement. Again I'm sorry and thanks to you that have responded kindly. Good luck and best wishes to you all.

  • I, too, am sorry for your loss. Hope you do stick around, this is an amazing group of TTCers and I no one will hold a grudge. Make a fresh start and maybe post an introduction (if you haven't done so already). You will learn the community rules pretty quickly. When unsure, just ask.

    These ladies are amazing.....truly amazing.

But girls I can't help but think.....thank goodness she did this HERE and not on any other board. That could have been very disheartening. We are very forgiving wheres other boards not so much.

Not that you can't re-start on other boards too if you can withstand the lashing they dish out without trying to defend your mistake.......but ouch!
